I'd go with Newman. Humans are balanced like Wartechers, yes, but I think a Newman plays to their strengths and weaknesses better. Wartechers have pretty low ATA, and Newmans have the second highest. Also Newmans have the highest EVD and you can capitalize on this with the Artecher's also very high EVD. Also you have to remember that Wartechers can get S-Rank Daggers and Dual Dagger, but only A-Rank Wands, meaning that overall Wartechers are a bit more biased towards physical fighting than techs (I think their stats reflect this, even, but don't quote me), so a Newman's higher MST boosts this a bit and helps make you equally awesome with both Physical attaking and Techs.
