I'm a beast hunter and I want to increase my chances of synthesizing hunter weapons. What stats should I raise/what food should I give?

You'll want to increase it's Striking for making melee weapons. Look at the "Feeding Increments" and "Recommended Diets" sections for suggestions on what to feed it.
