Is it me or does it seem almost usless in PSU to be a Wartecher. I mean in PSO you could beat the crap out of people with your huge sword then throw a Foie at some other mob right off the bat. But in PSU you have to switch to a new weapon and wait till you can use it. The only way I can see this being used is to heal people if none of your buddies chose a Force. As for the weapons they can use, I havn't seen what weapons they can use or how good they are with them but it still seems (Too weak) in my opinion. This is from my speculation, but I may be a ReRe (retard) so please comment http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'm planning on making a Cast Wartecher myself despite how useless it will be just for the Super Robot value.

a hunterish class with level 20 resta and elemental spells, sounds like a good soloer

With the spells you have to switch to your cane and then cast and the elements haven't slowed me down in soloing either. As for the resta part of it I toatally agree I use that combo in story mode, but It's not a big help all that much, especially now that I got the health recovery add-on item.

switching weapons is really fast.

wartechter is not useless. they might be regarded as the Red Mages of this game. average but can solo really well and NO ONE WOULD DENY the useful support they offer. healing, buffers and nukes are still healing, buffers and nukes. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

saying wartechters are useless is like saying humans are useless, which is not true.

people who just want things that are the best would underrate other styles that are different from their expectations.

lol maybe its a ps2 thing but when i switch to my cane in story i have to wait like 4 secs till i can hit the freakin button. So in a fight i have to switch weapons run away for like a crazy person and then spam the heal button XD.

oh you are playing ps2 version? ya I completed story mode with ps2 version and playing xbox360 version online.

ya ps2 version takes extra time to load/swap weapons so ya I understand the whole wand/staff thing.

well ya wartechter is not for everyone so ya choose whatever. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Guess you should research what weapons they can use first before assuming they are worthless.

And switching weapon part to cast techs isnt a big deal especially in higher rank since they switch really fast and smooth.

Actually i'd probably say thats there problem. They aren't healers buffers and nukers. They can only carry wands that hold 2 spells, and they can't carry an offhand melee weapon when they hold a wand. At least gun techers can shoot and cast.

So unless they want to carry 4 or 5 wands, they can only, heal, nuke, OR buff. And if you're going to carry four or 5 wands, you might as well be a full force since you won't be able to do enough meleeing to justify being a hunter.

I'm not saying that makes the class unplayable, as i intend to play one, but the fact they focus so much on magic, but can't hold to many spells is a large disadvantage.

I disagree. What takes longer is the loading of the image for a given weapon (i.e. before your cane or sword 'appears'); however, you can use the weapon/cane immediately and before the image loads...

I have no problems playin a dual-class, Im a Red Mage in ffXI, I guess its the fact that I just dont like the "fluidness" of the melee/casting aspect.

lol all i could find in "my search" was a tree showing how you got the classes and the use of wepons; I can only see them using basic melee stuff... like a red mage >.>

I don't see Wartecher as being a bad class at all, assuming that the Wartecher can use weapons you enjoy. Obviously if you're stuck with weapons you hate, it'll get tiresome.

Also, it's nice that all weapons have their own PP meter. This means that I can go all out with my hunter weapons and switch to my staves without sharing the same mana pool. It also means I can be an effective healer if the group needs one.

Wartecher is perfect for me because even on my Force, I love doing melee because I hate spending tons of meseta on the recharges, so I just attack everything with my twin daggers and switch to my rod for healing. As a Wartecher it's actually official that I am allowed to kick butt AND heal at my own discretion. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
