For example, how many "+striking" points does your PM have to gain to raise striking by 1 level?

It's just 100. It doesn't depend on level at all.

it was the same in pso too =o, all that changed was how much each item gave after an evolve

100 points = 1 level.

I think class leveling changes in points by level, though I could be wrong about that as well.
