S Rank on missions offline.

I have a question. im still playing the offline story as i dont have 20 hrs a day to play the game like some do, but i do have a question.

in offline mode when you do the trials, do you get better item rewards for better ranks? or are the rewards just random? is the point of rank only to get the job level points?

Getting S-rank offline yields better item rewards (including rare enemey parts and decorations for your room, etc.), more meseta and uncommon PA's / Techniques from your NPC teammates. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

So far that I've seen, getting an S rank nets you more meseta, more job points, a guaranteed rare item (most likely a decoration for your room, though I've got an enemy part and an SUV once), and a chance to get a PA disk from one of your partners. I've noticed that Murphy's Law tends to kick in when trying to get the PA you want, though.
