I like this game so far. I really really like this game.

But just like World of Warcraft, the people playing it are ruining it for me.

Is there an official PSO World server or guild or anything like that?

I am leveling a Force (almost level 13 now) named Nei. I want to group with people. The game is way more fun that way. The problem is this....

Sega has created another game that is all about how fast you can kill things. The downside to this is that you have to tag each mob to get xp from it. I am SO FREAKIN tired of walking into an area and finding half the mobs dead before I can cast a spell. Why can't Hunters hang for a second so that everyone catches up before they hit stuff?

What is so wrong about not sending every mob you hit flying into the air so that spells and range shots can hit them?

Why is it so hard to wait until all the mobs are dead in a room before destroying chests and picking up items?

Why is that level 35 joining a game with people 12 and under?

Instead of feeling like I'm working with people, I feel like I'm working against them.

If there is not an official PSO World guild or universe I am proposing one. I am looking for people who understand what it means to work WITH people and that a game like this is NOT all about how fast you can kill and loot.

It is about making friends and working together to have fun and accomplish goals that wouldn't be accomplished by yourself.

Anyone else feeling my frustrations at this point?

This is exactly why I play with a closed group of friends, or people I talk to on the boards / ingame -before- teaming with them. My friends and I are all the "take it slow, wait for everyone" types, and I make sure people playing with us know that, too. :l Hopefully you can get into more games like that.

Seriously, if anyone reads this like Miyoko and doesn't mind adding a friend to hang with please let me know. I am an old PSO Force player and know what I'm doing as far as playing my class goes.

Thanks.

Come to Universe 15; that's our joint. And the answer to your other questions is: People fucking suck and few don't.

Universe 15 I'll be around, or find Miyoko, she can find me I'm a bit high but I'm always open to help someone or hang out.

Jabedoben keep an eye out for me sweetie ... I would love to play with you http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif .. Im a laid back, social player who is very picky about who I play with. I beleive in a team effort myself.

Miyoko, that name sounds familiar.

Thanks for the quick replies, keep your eyes peeled for a Female Newman Force named Nei.

This is why I solo only http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif. I play with friends only because of this reason.

I Don't hog at all, in fact, if you team with me, your likely to get everything. I wont even attempt to grab things unless no one wants them or if the loots rules were changed.

My g/f plays a force so I'm used to playing with that class (I'm a Hunter). She hits then I rip the place up XD

If you ever go to Universe 15 and see a game by Nagis, my password is always 0000. I don't mind playing with people who understand what it's like to play in a team with a team mentality.... would be a nice change since, so far, I've been soloing the entire game...

You're welcome to play with my group any time, as long as we've got space for you http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

As far as items go, it seems to me that random or order is the way to go. Finders keepers just blows.

Oyako
Nov 4, 2006, 10:28 PM
To me, items are ok... if I really need money, I'll solo and farm it on my own., but when I team with people it's for pure XP (Class and Character) ^__^

Yea i know how you feel, im a hunter and i used to use a Saber and Handgun combo, so i was able to get a piece of everything, but now/before my 360 broke, i used a sword, so it seemed for me that it took longer to walk and longer to swing, so i also had to worry about not getting enough xp. But the reason me and i guess other hunters rush ahead, is that sometimes when you wait for everyone to get to the mobs, you get killed or hurt and some force's dont heal hunters (no clue why) so it doesnt benefit the hunter to wait for force who dont heal.

Bhadra or Raina on 15. Always welcome to join. I'm usually with the RPGFanners, but if you find me solo, flag me down. Since Bhadra's my main, look for the giant beastwoman who's taller than /everyone/ and has wavy black hair.

I had a group of players such as you seek back on my DC and GC PSO days. Was wonderful. They exist. I simply havent found them yet on PSU, outside of the one real life friend I have in the game with me presently, but I am sure they are out there. They're pretty rare. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I'm currently mostly grinding for my PM at the momentand hang out on U7 while doing that, but will try coming by U15 too. I'm usually on as my Force named Treya 7.

I've noticed that if i'm running a mission before a field lobby, I'll sometimes be forced to lock the game because Lv 30+ people will come in hoping for a quick trip to the field lobby. Really bugs me.

Hmm, did you happen to be outside the Yohmei shop on Neudaz not too long ago on Universe 15 and compliment the name of a Newman named Miyu? If so, that is my character and thanks, was in the middle of typing a post which is why I didn't respond. If not, then theres multiple Neis (was newman so assuming she was a force, didn't catch the level) roaming Universe 15.

So far I haven't run into the problem with higher levels coming into a game with lower levels and killing everything too fast. With people around my levels (11-12 on ranger, 7-8 on force) I haven't had any problems tagging or notice the mobs dieing too quick. I did notice one much higher level coming into a Mad Creature C game on Parum, but it was right before it ended and he even said he was just using the game to get into the next area. I'm guessing that is the main reason a high level would join with low levels, not counting friends helping out (letting low level(s) tag and then killing everything fast to farm exp for level/class faster).

If you are having problems tagging in games with similar leveled people, you may have better luck moving on to higher level missions so things don't die as fast.

That's why I'm going to play solo missions for awhile till I get some meseta and what not. :l

There's alot of greedy people out there. -.-

I usually solo for exp, and pt for kicks. I keep my exping a solo thing because there is no way I believe I can get better exp/ maseta etc by joining a group.

I remember a newman Nei... 360, right? I think I was in the party with a Nei, or something. Same name on there, as on here.

I like to think myself as fair. I drop mates and such for people who need them, wait for those who are dragging behind, and escort new players to the mission. Sometimes I do get greedy, when I know the items arn't random, and I need money...

Im a hunter , and I agree with this post, I usually wait for people. What also annoys me is by the time i get to a mob A hunter has used his photon art and thrown all the enemys all over the place =/. Whats the point.

SpikeOtacon
Nov 5, 2006, 03:51 AM
I always make it a point to wait for my teammates. Even if they're taking forever to get there I will wait until everyone can at least get one hit in before I start dealing my damage. Unfortunately, not a lot of groups play like this.

Knoob
Nov 5, 2006, 04:28 AM
i wont lie and say i wait, because i dont. i would, but theres always someone who loves to spam PAs and i would never give them all the exp =o regardless i typically solo to level, and party only when i feel like having fun and such. joining set order games helps for those people who get box-happy, though, some people open boxes while waiting for people to tag mobs

KiteWolfwood
Nov 5, 2006, 04:39 AM
Wait till you get to B and A mission. You won't have to worry about hunters killing stuff before you tag it.

ChaosSentinel
Nov 5, 2006, 05:19 AM
Yeah, I know... I play a hunter, so it's not as big a problem for me, but I notice it happening to forces all the time. I try to be as considerate as possible in that respect... and yes, ordered normal, random rares is better than give finder. It's all I use. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'm looking for a good guild, too... I've met a few cool people, but I'd like to be part of a group. Hopefully I'll find a good one soon.

BTW, I love the name. It seems I'm not the only one who's played old-school Phantasy star. My character's Alis Landale (from PS1). ^_^

EXP and loot jacking have been around since even the DC days of PSO. But you're right, it would be nice to game with more considerate people again.

Thanks for all the replies folks!

Universe 15 has been great so far. I did a De Ragan run last night with a level 32 Force who did not once kill a mob before I had a chance to at least tag for xp.

I also ran into a few of you around, seems like a very friendly place and I'm looking forward to meeting more of you.

Is universe 15 only for ps2/PC? I've gone to 15 on 360 a few times, and there's never anyone to be found.

I go where ever. If you play 360, and you happen to catch a Raistlin run by hit me up. Please just don't send a random GC.

Shiro_Ryuu
Nov 5, 2006, 10:50 AM
same happened to me when i saw this level 18 guy in the c-level guardian's colony quest hogging all of the exp by spamming twin dagger pas, what use does he even have of the exp from the colony c rank? like 4-8 exp points each kill? sheesh.

AlMcFly
Nov 5, 2006, 11:16 AM
Yeah, in groups I make, if you ask ahead of time to make sure you get the tag on the monsters, we are pretty cool about it. There are definitely differences between "Exp Runs" and "Item/Class Point Runs".

Nukei
Nov 5, 2006, 11:32 AM
Yep, that's why I try to tag all the mobs I can with Rabarta, which is about 2/3s of all of the monsters.
