We could only hope. That'd be cool, but this should have been announced somewhere (although on Thursday they waited until 9 PM EST until they updated the maintenance schedule, so SoA isn't actually the greatest at keeping us posted regularly).

Anyone know if the game itself is still up, or if they announced this in game with their ticker ad?

No. the other servers would be down too.

My brother is playing the 360 version at this very moment. Not Moatoob. Probably a PC/PS2 server crash.

My girlfriend signed on right before patch servers went down. She is still able to play although anyone who wasn;t online prior will fail at obtaining patch information.
