Currently, the only chatroom available for all things PSOW is independent and in no way actually supports PSOW. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but the chatroom is filled with chats about 4chan links and is run by abusive, hypocritical moderators who boot you just because they don't like you or your jokes. It's really a shame.
I feel that now is the time to actually get a PSOW-run IRC and work on getting real modertors for it. That way, we wouldn't have to deal with off-topic chatter and the occasional misuse of powers that we currently are forced to cope with.

Whoa..wait people still go to that chat room? lol I remember I think a year ago that thing was dead cause people got tired of the abuse.
You know, PSOW doesn't have to host it, you could setup your own mIRC I think and just say it's for the board.

In all honesty, PSO World doesn't need an IRC channel at all. The fact is that #psow on irc.foreverchat.net is managed by several members of our community, and it will remain as such. Because of these circumstances, if you should piss off one of the operators in charge of the channel, then as with any IRC chat room, you will be banned from there at their discretion. Just keep in mind these two things, however:
Bannings on PSO-World.com are permanent, while bannings on #psow are prone to being very, very temporary.
For yor communication needs, PSO-World.com offers a large collection of forums with far more active posters at any given time than #psow generally has active chat participants.
Now I will admit, since eRUPT left and took his bot, rUPTSTER with him, #psow's connection to PSO-World.com has been really quite thin and possibly even misleading, and at this point, the only reason we seem to continue supporting it at all is that a person can still wander in there, ask a question, and sometimes requiring a little patience, get a relavent answer. What all boils down to is this: We will not be obtaining a new chatroom.

The only problem is, all you people coming into #psow take the shit too seriously and expect everyone in #psow to be your PSO/PSU Answer-bots.
We're there to have a good time and have fun, and guess what, a good time does not always relate to PSO/PSU. There are other things we like. If you want a question answered, check the site, check the forums, and if it's not answered, ask it. Don't goto the chat, ask about PSO/PSU and then get pissy(as I've seen many people do) just because your answer was ignored or just un-answered. As for being booted/kicked, deal with it or go elsewhere. We boot/kick each other regularly, and if that pisses you off, well guess what, you sure come back to the irc channel quite abit so it must not bother you that much. =D

I also notice that people are being kicked/banned at quick rates.
The chat ask for a length nick of 12 characters or less. (Hey we should add that to the bottom of the Chat Text on the j-chat) Here is what happens when your nick is over 12. (for now on anyway)
* NicktooLonglol (PSOANON@dfsdfsdfs) has joined #psow
* Tingle sets mode: +b NicktooLonglol!*@*
* NicktooLonglol was kicked by Tingle (Nick length limit is 12. Please change it using /nick new name or type a new name at J-chat.)
This ban only bans your offending name. Re-enter a new name and join again using /join #psow in the text box.
