60 FPS (0 Frame Skip) or 1280 x 1024 (1 Frame Skip)?

Well, for me that's what the choice has boiled down to. After making the improvements I can afford to my pc, I can either run this game on max settings and resolution (but at Frame Skip 1) or at 800 x 600 with max settings and 0 frame skip.

I love the fluidity of the game with 0 frame skip. It's awesome.

But... I don't like giving up all that detail you get with 1280 x 1024.

It's a weird problem. One offers super-smooth gameplay (which I think I'm leaning towards) but the other, while somewhat choppy (gawds I hate frame skip) is otherwise better looking.

What would choose? Or, if you're in the same boat, what DID you choose?

I'm running 1280x1024 with 1 frameskip and it's perfectly fine for me. I never see any slowdown and while the benefit 0 frameskip might be slightly noticable, you won't miss the difference after playing at fs1 for a short time.
