Network mode and cost?

hey i'm new, and i am just now buying a network adapter for my ps2 to play psu. um how much is the monthly fee?
i always used to play offline with pso.

wow. that's cheap. and uh....could someone explain to me what network mode is? is it like an online story mode?

Well, it's difficult to explain to the uninitiated.

If you've unlocked Extra Mode, it's similar to that -- only it's massively multiplayer. Hundreds of people online. Stats are quite different between Extra Mode and Network Mode which can be frustrating sometimes.

There's not really a story in Network Mode. It's more about you running around with people and killing things.

I believe network mode is just another name for online mode.

It is basically an online community where you can meet up with a bunch of people and do missions with them
