I'm stealing an old contest idea because it was fun and I am lazy. So here is how it works.

Explination:
I will outline a number of dates and times later on in this thread, for example one may be November 11th, 9:00PM PST.

At the specified time a thread will be created and a more specific time will be given: for exmaple 9:23. This time will be within an hour of the thread creation time. At which point the person with the first post with the timestamp 9:23PM PST will be the winner of that thread. You can do whatever else in the thread but the only significant post for the contest will be the first one at 9:23.

There will be 6 entry threads to decide the 6 members which will go into the semi-finals. Then there will be 3 semi-final threads in which 2 of the 6 semi-finalists will go one on one to reach the finals. Once you win an entry thread you may not participate in the others, though you are still welcome to post in them and attempt the first post.

The finals will be one thread with all 3 finalists. Winner takes all.

Rules
The only thing that matters is the forum timestamp. So I don't care if your grandma works for the Time company, and she says we were 3 seconds off.

There will be a total of 10 threads.

6 entry threads heald at 8 hour intervals over 2 days, giving all times zones equal oportunites to participate

3 Semi-final threads. The winners of thread 1 and 2 (3-4, 5-6) will discuss an apropriate time for their thread based on their schedules. These will idealy be held all on the same day. Possibly over 2 days depending on schedules.

1 final. The final will be held on the day following the last semi-final. The 3 finalists will discuss an approrpiate time for it to be held.

Prizes
The winner of the contest will get to have the sticky of thier choice in fkl for 1 month. This can be an existing thread, or one can be created for this purpose. The spcifics of the thread will be up to them (locked, unlocked, which posts are deleted, all that jazz).

In addiition, they will get to choose what signature all contest participants have as thier sig for 2 weeks, and thier avatars for 3 days (more on this below).

Entry Fee
In order to participate you need to give up your sig for 2 weeks following the contest, and your avatar 3 days. Participating means any post in any of the contest threads (they will be clearly labed as such. No this isn't one of them). So if you post 'Good Luck' in one of them 30 minutes before the offical post time, you have just participated.

At the end of the contest the winner will choose an avatar. All participants must change thier avatar to this selected one for 3 days after the contest. Everyone will use the same one, they may not assign different avatars to different members.

They will also choose the signature of all participants. The specifics will will be decided by tthe winner, and you will have to adjust your signature accordingly. For exmaple: If they simply want a line in it that says "'so and so' is the most awesome awesome that ever awesomeoned", and say nothing further can be added to the sig, that thats how it goes. They may allow you to add whatever sig you want in addition, or may decide exactly how the sig must look. Again, everyone will use the same sig, they cannot pick specific sigs for different users.

The winner may also pass on the selection of avatar or sig if they want.

Now, nobody is going to hunt you down and break your arm if you don't change your sig or avatar if you lose the contest. It's up to you to be a poor sport or not. It's pretty simple, if you aren't willing to pay the entry fee, then don't participate. And if you do whimp out after participating don't be suprised to find an addition to your sig commenting on your poor sportsmanship with some sort of poop analogy.

The Threads

1: 11/11/06 7:00AM PST
2: 11/11/06 3:00PM PST
3: 11/11/06 11:00PM PST
4: 11/12/06 3:00AM PST
5: 11/12/06 11:00AM PST
6: 11/12/06 7:00PM PST

PST is the forum time, so use that to determin that time it will be in your time zone.

Questions, comments, clarifications? Nows the time.

30 second timer/post is off now compared to previous runnings of the contest, right?

That's gonna be some active posting in those threads!

I'm trying to get it back up before then. But if it isn't, oh well.

You run races in your Jays?

Man, keep those things deadstocked in the closet.

Resell em later when prices increase.

T-shirt with pictures of shoes on them is tacky to the max!
