Question regarding PM's...

Ok, so I am a hunter, and I was thinkning about raising it to be a GH 450.. now, is that a bad idea? Like, does the PM stats affect mine at all? And what's this I hear about people raising their PM's to make weapons!?!?! >.>

PM stats only affect their chances of synthing that kind of item. Striking = melee, ranged = ranged, technic = wands/rods, armor = armor. So, if you're comfortable with buying all your good weapons, there's no reason not to make a 450.
