I believe that's kind of the general format for all MMOs. Maybe it's just me?

An orange bar with scrolling text (akin to a ticker) is a lot nicer than just a small announcement in a chat log, that could be easily missed.

its better then WoW, I once got "15 minutes till server restart" *10 seconds pass* "5 minutes till server restart" *finishes reading message* *kicked to login screen* so atleast these guys can tell time unlike Blizzard nd the elderly at a grocery store(but thats a story for another day)

I wonder if Sega reads everything people say in PSU online. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

reason for that, blizz hits the 'restart' switch, and it automatically displays the 15 minutes timer. then if they want it faster, they alter the time at that point. which, imo, is stupid, they should haveit so they alter time first.

I heard from a credible source that a single man reads all the logs from every day before they are deleted and when the last PSU server goes offline he will kill himself holding a single flower in a pool of crystal clear glacier water. s

They did that on Blue Burst with a scrolling message along the top of the screen. I haven't seen it in PSU yet, but I'm not usually online when Maintenence starts.
