Well being a male who does enjoy a few female artists (and i don't mean pop crap like britney or christina) i've grown a taste for a few of these artists. Some of my friends call me a "fag" for likeing them, then again they are all close minded a-holes but aside from that point, i was wondering what Female artists you people think are good. I for one would say

Michelle Branch - very good music, especially her song featuring Santana (Game Of Love)

Sarah McLachlan - Anything by here i believe is great. Especially Building a Mystery.

Alicia Keys - I don't exactly "love" her music, however she has a great voice, and her lyrics are great too. Many current bands i know find her inspirational. Such as goo goo dolls, dave matthews band, guster, and averi.

well what are your thoughts? =P

If the fact that when I saw the line "female artists," my mind went to stuff like paintings and drawings is any indication, I have dead flat zero appreciation for musical art, much less that by women as opposed to men. X_x

Their guitarist left. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif Their guitarist has a solo project.http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif And it's industrial. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

A female artist I enjoy is Vanessa Carlton. I wonder if she'll do a video without her piano in it.

Ashanti is another one.

But I'll admit that I'm a typical guy. Music wasn't what made me notice them.

The guitarist from KITTIE, was that the darker skined chick w/ the AWESOME/scary voice? If so, what's the name of the new band?

Yep, that person. Her new band is Amphibious Assault (http://www.aassault.com/), which consists of only her.

My favourite will always be Enya, but there are others that are worthwhile mentions to me: Sarah Brightman, Sarah MacLaughlan, Gwen Stefani, and Leigh Nash of the band Sixpence None the Richer.

I love Enya's music. And even though I hate her character, three of Avril's songs are pretty good. I also used to like Britbey and Christina, but then they turned to sex and their music started sucking.

Ayumi Hamasaki also sings good music along with Megumi Hayashibara.

I generally finding myself liking female opera singers better than men, but otherwise... naw, not particularly...
