No, don't be a Dragoon. They are the biggest gimps in any online MMORPG ever. They do crap for damage, are blind as hell with their special moves, can't support with heals worth a damn, and they are out damaged by their pet Wyvern. That isn't saying much because the Wyvern does crap for damage too.

Hunter is newb friendly. The other two aren't.

...You've mistaken the Dragoon for a Crapoon, from the world of FFXI.

Don't do that, ever again. If it's FFXI we're talking about here, either RDM, or BLU FTW!

Dragoons sucked on Horses.
Dragoons sucked on Wyverns.
Dragoons sucked on Nintendos.
Dragoons sucked on Megaman.

No matter what I was referring to they are gimps. End of story.

Panzer Dragoon > TLoD.

But anyway, back on topic.

If you are just starting out then it's wise to do Hunter. It's cheap compared to Force, and Ranger, but it's also got very consistent damage if you upgrade occasionally.

Okay. Thank you http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif
I won't be getting PSU in for another few weeks, but I'm looking forward to it. Since most people say I should go Hunter, I will probably use a Beast http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Good choice.

In addition to already higher ATP than the other races, you also get the most powerful starting Saber and Handgun. When I make new chars I always do a Beast first to grab their weapons.

My common box is full of like 400k meseta worth of Clothes. Barely enough for the saber and handgun for new chars lol.

I probably should renovate that box and keep the cloths on my GH410 or GH430. Maybe. Probably. It would certainly make transferring items to other chars alot easier. @_@

Well if we're talking about the best for beginners, then Hunter is the cheapest and is the most compatable for newbies. Ranger is definately fun, i'll give you that, but it's not exactly the cheapest one. As a Hunter you can get free upgrades to your weapons from random mob drops on all difficulties. Rangers and Forces are just about restricted to B and A missions to get upgrades for free. And even then those are even rarer drops. I haven't seen anything but melee drop in the past week. I want pretty handguns. My Priceguns by Yohmei are strong, sure, but I feel like a Grocery Clerk at Kroger or something. >.>

i would try out all the class very briefly at first

as for what your asking in your original question i will say this, none of the classes are complicated and all are newbie friendly really(this is PSU if you think anything about it is complicated for a rpg god help you http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

all start off with only a few moves and its not like you have to learn everything instantly but the styles of play do vary a lot between the classes(i cant stand playing a force, prefer physical damage classes) which is why it would be a good idea to try all of them so you dont end up hating the game or something

Hunter: Bash stuff upside the head with melee weapons.
Fortefighter: This is essentially Super Saiya-jin Level 3 for Hunter. Your powerlevel rises above 9,000 and things die alot quicker than as a Hunter.
Ranger: Shoot the eyes out of mobs and cause status effects.
Fortegunner: Same old, same old. Level 30 bullets, Laser cannons, Grenade Launchers. Ever-frozen enemies now with your level 30 bullets. Upgraded form of Ranger.
Force: Hide like the coward you are behind the Hunters and miss all of your spells, then emo rant about it here on psow.
Fortecher: You get pretty tier 3 spells, but you're still a coward for hiding behind melee.

Guntecher: Level thirty bullets, level ten spells and weapon skills. You can heal occasionally and buff/debuff with the best of 'em. Don't try to melee because tier 1 Dagger and Saber PAs are kind of retarded.
Wartecher: Level 20 techs and PAs, level 10 bullets. You can do it all, but you are always out matched by the Fortes and the other Hybrids in their respective field. Remember the HUnewearls from PSO? Well, say hello to their upgraded form.
Figunner: So I hear you like Darth Maul. Well, good, because this is the only class that gets Double Sabers. This is essentially a watered down version of Fortefighter. Where FF's favors bigger slower numbers, FG's favor smaller, more frequent numbers.
Protranser: lol. If you like traps, then this is for you. You'd be unique in that you can't do anything except lay traps. I hope to god you get a super boost in their damage and can carry more traps than everybody else, because if not LOL.

Pfft, FFIV dragoons = awesome. I still remember being way disappointed with FFVI, because for a time there was a rumor when it was in production that Square was going with a storyline, which would have been a direct sequel to FFIV, which followed Kain through his travels after leaving at the end of IV. Kain was way cool.

As to which class is most noob friendly, everyone has a lot of god points, but I've always felt on the simplist level, rangers by far were the easiest. Just shoot and move. Nothing gets close enough to touch you. Granted, there's a lot more to the ranger class, and they can get difficult to equip well, and all sorts of things. Ranger in my mind is easiest to pick up and learn, harder to master.

Hunter will keep you in check without having to worry too much about keeping people alive or low HP/defense. It's also got the "thrill" factor of the Photon Arts, which toss enemies around, this is to keep newbies interested until they rely on what the PA does, not what it looks like. Trust me, Hunter is an excellent start.

Flamingo99
Nov 16, 2006, 11:26 PM
I say hunter. rangers and forces start of kinda slow and tedious to me (Even though they are my favorite classes) and may make the game boring if you don't have the patience.

Xbob
Nov 16, 2006, 11:43 PM
Yeah, they seem boring to those who aren't used to PSU because they don't have the "action" thrill. But once you've been at it for a while, they seem fun. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Everything's easy. You like magic? Be a force. You like shooting? Be a Ranger. You like melee combat? Be a Hunter. It's that simple.

DoubleJG
Nov 17, 2006, 02:23 AM
Hunter. Simple as that. They're the least expensive of the three beginning classes and easiest to use. If you want to be somewhat unique, try Ranger, however they consume PP at a far greater rate = $$$.

What grade of weed are you smoking cause I sure as fuck want some.

LOL Force is by far the easiest because you don't have to buy any damn curatives.

I went Fo first on BOTH my NA chars just to save up cash for uber shit later.

Learned that trick on JP.

i dunno,i always thought rangers were the easiest to use, excellent survivability, easy to tag enemies but pp recharging is a bane

shooting things from 30 meters away is pretty damn easy, easier than getting your face smashed in at melee range

-Shimarisu-
Nov 17, 2006, 05:56 AM
I don't think any class is easier than another, but force sure is easiest on your money starting up, which is the singular important thing in the early levels.

Zeizen
Nov 17, 2006, 06:42 AM
I dunno. I dont find recharging inexpensive on my hunter. But than again I spam PA's consisistently. As far as which is easiest, I have 3 characters each a diffrent class. I found them all to have the same ease and difficulty playing. As far as the easiest I think they are all pretty simple. I found myself getting bored with the ranger and force class because the threat of dying wasn't really there. Unless your half retarded >.> Its your game pick what you want and play how you want.

-Shimarisu-
Nov 17, 2006, 07:37 AM
I'm not talking about recharging. I'm talking about buying dimates.
