hey I noticed in PS2 if you look at the Parum sun it has a really cool solar flare effect.

but when playing online with X360 (havent played story with that yet), the sun is simply a bright spot. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

anyone notice this? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif and also if you go to the west area of Parum, with the tables and stuff, if you look up at the GRM building there is the sun and solar flare effect to the right of it. but in the Xbox360 version there is no sun at all at that spot.

very strange differences. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_salad.gif

Probably all they could do to make up for the performance differences.

The explanation to this great conundrum lies within the salad smiley. If you look hard you can clearly tell...why the hell do you notice these differences?

lol well I find it interesting. why would the Xbox360 miss out on such a beautiful solar flare effect? did they fear people would complain about the solar flare bothering their eyes? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I think more so that they are attempting to blind ps2 users so they can't see how crappy their version really is.

Your opinion.

I don't think it's a "missed feature" as much as it is a graphical defect. I remember in another topic about PC flare effect that with the High settings the flare went kinda wonky. I'd assume the same with the 360 version.

It's not like I just stare at Parum all day either. I usually only look at it for about half a second before selecting an area to arrive in. Let the PS2 users have a moment of glory. It's the only advantage they have.

The solar flare effect was in the xbox360 beta but they took it out of the game because for some reason in the lakefront area on parum it made it look like there was 2 suns, one setting and one gleaming straight up in the sky.

I'm sorry but there is nothing wrong with the PS2 version. Only the 360 crowd notice the lag when people start spamming PAs and magic. I sure don't.

Fail.

lag? what lag? I've never noticed framerate lag. You must be talking about that early release version that gamespot previewed.

That's funny because I don't notice lag when people spam PAs and Magic

At 3 FPS the dip in frames would be quite hard to notice indeed.

The lag is so minut that only perfectionist GoW fans will notice it. D:

Your 360 must be broken. My PSU 360 never drops below a solid 60 fps. There is the occassional slowdown, but all it is slowdown and the frame rate is still smoothe.

I've also experienced zero lag with the retail version. Coincidentally, I also have a very good internet connection.

I think that people experiencing lag are really either having problems with their router(I can't hook one of my PC's and the 360 at once) or just have a crappy connection.

No, I'm saying the PS2 version runs at a low framerate. I run the PC version all settings maxed very quickly at 60FPS. But then again, I spent a lot of money on my PC so that's the penalty I paid for optimum performance. Someone running at 30FPS on min settinsg could play as well as anyone at max settings, but when the PS2 slows down bad it results in poor gameplay.

I have yet to experience ANY slowdown due to PAs/Magic/blah blah blah.

I applaud the effort though. Have fun with your sun flare effect.

Just be thankful ALL that we are not still playing in inferior systems of old.......a slight increase in graphics is still an Increase and I enjoyed it then and I enjoy it more now so I'm still getting ahead and that's all that should matter to anyone G http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I will. Must suck that the Xbox 360; in all its technical superiority, can't perfom a simple lense flare.

...ok, i'll stop. I'll stop letting my hatred for the 360 get the better of me.

The PS2 slows down, try a Neudaiz mission with 6 people and tell me you won't get some massive slowdown. Graphical slowdown and lag are two different things. I played the X360 beta, but decided to get the PS2 version so I could play on my laptop as well..

Why is everyone making such a big deal out of a FLARE?!
I mean seriously, I could have cared less if we had it or not geez.
