Goggles in update?

They're given to you in the first online story mission, which isn't online yet. I believe that's in the next update.

I was wondering when we'd be getting goggles, myself. I came across this, while taking a short tour of the Mad Beasts mission earlier:

I couldn't get to the other side of them, no matter where I went.

Suspicious-looking rocks, with a tree blocking an opening. There were piles of hay (three of them) which I cannot get to on the other side. I shot them with my handgun, and... They had the barrels under them, so I shot those...

Obviously, the only reason a rare appeared there, is because I, personally, could not get to it. :/ This made me think, that much like in Story mode, there may be some areas only accessible by scanning objects with the goggles, and subsequently destroying them, to gain access.

The rare looks like it has a lighter color in the middle. I'd bet that its a Moon Atomizer X board.

Anyone tried these?:
-Fire spell/attack on the wood
-PA on the rocks
-Multiple hits on rocks
-Checking out for a secret area (they could have brought them back, those impossible to see area entrances, maybe a wall has an opening, try checking around that area).

I have a question,in online story missions, when they feature an NPC that is unavailable to ur class? Do you keep their card? I want Tonnio as an Online buddy, Maya is just..to tall for my newman http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif..or even Hyuga is fine..well maya is cool though:)

So far on the JP version, I believe you can get the partner cards of Leia, Leo, and Lou through story missions. Maya you'll probably get after the 4th mission

In the JP version you use the goggles which you get from the online story mission on the tree. Then you can attack it to take it out. Also the NPCs you get from the story missions in the JP verison in order are Leia, Lou, and Hyuga. No Leo or Maya yet http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif.

I think it was Hyuga, not Leo in the third mission? Not certain of that, though.

Yeah it's Hyuga. Just did the missions when the US was down for maintenance.

I have no idea what class Leia is. I mean, she uses Double Claws, Partisans and the like, all clearly level 30 photon arts, then busts out a wand and spams heal.

Really? She's never used wands when I had her. Just twin claws and axes.

All npc's can whip out a wand to heal when they get low on health. That might've been the case here. When solo'ing with Leo he takes out that wand quite often and heals me and himself up (only when he hits yellow though).

Wow maybe I'm doing something wrong because my NPCs are dense and never heal themselves and will remain at low HP until they die or I use a star atomizer or resta myself. NPC's follow the rules of offline mode. Meaning they can use pretty much whatever they feel like using. Offline hunters can use ALL S rank melee weapons and B rank wands.

im guessing that this "leia" is the american story mode version of Karen or is she some random person not included in the american version?

She's a female beast hunter who makes her debut in Episode II story mode online. We should see her on US servers in the next patch.

I don't particularly like the romanization of her name as Leia. Just doesn't sound right to me... Is leia always written Raia? I would think it would be written Reia so it gets pronounced as Leia. Either way, shes a pretty good all around npc. Good hp/def and good damage outpost. Not afraid to go kill stuff either. Maya is already confirmed for the episode 2 chapter 4 update. So Raia -> Lou -> Hyuuga -> Maya. I guess that would mean Leo 5th and completing the racial npcs? Maybe some of the other story characters for the 6th and 7th (if there are 6th and 7th)? I wouldn't mind running around with Karen online.
