This isn't a rant, but rather an observation of something I find distinctly unusual and that some folks might not be aware of.
As you know, you're not 'stuck' with your character having to look the same throughout his/her life:
- If you get fed up with the way your character is dressed they can buy whole new outfits from the clothing stores.
- If you get bored of their eye color, skin color or hairstyle you can get a makeover from the salon makeover facilities.
Yet if you made your character have a beard, I can't seem to find any way of shaving it off - or even growing one if you suddenly decide your bald-faced fellow would look cool with one!
The way I understand things, this is because the beard is a part of the face texture you choose when you make a character and the face (and physical size and voice) of your character is unfortunately permanent.
I find it wierd because people shave off and grow beards all the time in the real world (and it's so easy to do), yet how many people actually change their eye or skin color? I would have expected that more people would have preferred to have the option to change facial hair moreso than eye color at least. Looks like SEGA forgot about beards!
