Abused as a young child by his father who he eventually killed for revenge, Shiro Ryuu was trained in martial arts after running from home and has killed someone for the first time at the age of 10, since then has had 15 years of experience in fights to the death. He fights to perfect his skill, becoming stronger and stronger. He is very quiet and never displays his emotions. He would however protect the weak whenever they are being oppressed and he has a high sense of honor, believing in the code of bushido. He is the main character of my fan-fic. He is a pure fighting specialist who is mostly skilled in melee combat, especially the twin sabers but has no ability to cast technics and not very good with guns although he's learned how to use a crossbow recently.

An assassin for those who pay the right price, Tai Yin finds enjoyment in killing people, especially if they put up challenging fights, fighting is the one thing he lives to do, as he feels most alive in fighting. He has killed 9,999 people(not monsters, PEOPLE), and when he meets Shiro Ryuu, he makes it his goal to make him number 10,000 ,seeing him as the only one worthy of having that spot. Just like Shiro Ryuu, Tai Yin is a pure fighting specialist, skilled mainly with twin claws and his bare hands.

Sayuri's brother who unknown to her was a leader of a gang has been killed by Shiro Ryuu. As she learned about this, she made it her goal to kill Shiro Ryuu and get her revenge on him. Sayuri is a Guardian who fights because she wants to bring justice, and killing Shiro Ryuu is what she believes is one way to bring justice for her deceased brother. She is very energetic, emotional, and somewhat tomboyish though she still looks femenine. She is very skilled with technics although her main forte are guns, especially twin handguns.

Little was known of the origins of the self-declared "Foul God"....the Dookieman...but he he was a powerful and effective Hunter, with an arrogance that put most people off. Many of the other beasts of Moatoob suspected he was not really one of them. He had the appearance, and the ability to transform...but there was an unforgettable stench around him at all times...sometimes this rank aura of funk was even visible during his battle... this would later be replicated into an armour slot unit some would wear, called the Black Heart. Rumours were circulating that perhaps this "Dookieman" was of demonic origins.

Elsewhere on the Phantasy Universe, there was a brilliant and amazingly perceptive CAST that went by the name Robotnik. He already knew the deal with this Dookieman character, and it was truly something much, much worse than the rumor of gossiping townsfolk. This was not a primary concern, however. He already knew of a much more pressing issue....the impending arrival of a Profound Darkness. A super genius intellect allowed Robotnik to overcome many things, including death. However, this "Darkness" was going to pose quite a problem in the near future.

Bio: Originally, Seiryu was named Hikaru. She was the only daughter of the one of the families that chose to migrate to the Pioneer colony from Neudaiz. The colony had representatives from the areas of science, medicine, military, education and civillians and represented all four races in the known galaxy. The colony was to be the center of peace to end the war between the races, but something went horribly wrong. The colony suddenly fell through the atmosphere of a nearby planet and became the most elaborate coverup in history. The planet was dubbed Ragol. The three planets; having failed to uncover who the anonymous 4th party was who dropped the colony, agreed to give a public statement on the fate of the Pioneer and its crew: An undetected meteorite slammed into and vaporized it completely.

Shortly before the Colony breached the atmosphere the colonists froze a number of their population in the most fortified area of the structure in the hopes that some would survive. The process was painless, but the majority of those frozen died on impact as their confinements broke, and others died slower deaths as they where unfroze due to malfunctions and suffocated to death. Of the 286 colonists frozen, only one survived: Hikaru.

A hundred years passed and a Guardian shuttle drifted off course and detected the wreckage of the Pioneer, and then descended to investigate. After a few days of searching, they recovered Hikarus capsule and returned with her to the Guardians Colony. Her capsule and state of body where examined and it was concluded that even if the thawing process was a success, her organic body would fail shortly after being reanimated because of the high number of Megi-Photons she had absorbed over the years. In order to find out who she was, and what the ship was, high command authorized the activation and use of a new CAST body to serve as her own. The Communion of Gurhal was asked in secret to perform a spirit transfer ritual, and shortly after, a new CAST was born into the world. Her name was HK-876 Alexei.

Though the ritual was a succes, her memory was all but wiped clean. She was useless for information, but because her spirit was bonded to a Hunter-Killer model, she was put into service as a Guardian to salvage some of the cost of this endeavor.

A year later, Alexei became a fully fledged Guardian. Not before she got caught up on the history she missed the past 100 years, customs, important people, etc. During a ceremony on the Guardians Colony, the SEED attacked and Alexei sprung into battle. She fought her way to the Presidents Chamber and then escorted him to a more secure location when a powerful SEED enemy appeared. She fought the monster and won, but not before suffering a mortal blow. As she lay there dying the President took her into his arms and told her to hold on, to which she replied... "...as you command, sir". This deeply affected him so much that once the attacks on the Colony subsided, he boarded a private shuttle and took her down to Neudaiz, along with an unmarked cryo chamber.

At first he was denied, but he eventually got the Communion of Gurhal to again consent to a ritual of Spirit Transfer. Alexei would have an organic body once the ritual was over.

The body chosen was cloned from a tissue sample taken from her original body before it was disposed of. Unlike the Newmans first created by Humans who had immensily powerful Technic abilities, this body could not sustain the magical energies to perform even the most basic of technics. Though the sample was engineered and refined for cloning at one of the better labs on the Colony, they could not reverse the effect the Megi-Photons had on her as far as casting techs goes. After the ritual the Communion of Gurhal gave Hikaru the name 'Seiryu' and Light Master Rutsu had forms processed to officially adopt her. He trained her in the use of recovery technics, but her contact with the Megi-Photons prevented her from learning the more powerful versions. She was now officially a Newman.

Seiryu returned to active duty with the Guardians with the consent and blessing of Light Master Rutsu. Her memory of her time as an HK-876 Alexei was in tact, but her time as Hikaru was still a blank.

The investigation into the wreckage of the Pioneer on Ragol go on to this day, in secret, as a joint effort by the Neudaiz Government and the Guardians Colony.

One of many CASTs who worked in manufacturing at G.R.M industries. When the GUARDIANS put out a call for more recruits to defend against the imminent thread of the SEED, G.R.M lent their support by lending the GUARDIANS a few of their laborers. Meylen was always a hardworking, cheery individual who always had a passion for her work; which was why she was perfect for reformatting into a combat unit. They didn't just force Meylen into this job, however, they gave her a few options, and of the options she felt she would be most comfortable working in demolitions and heavy weaponry (Protranser), since she used to make bombs and guns for GRM. However, no applicable data could be found on that field, so she was given the task of gathering sufficient combat data of all Guardian types to construct the data herself.

Her Partner Machine, who she named Mini-Mey, is almost an extension of her old memories. After she was reformatted for Guardian duties, she found the disc which contained her old programming and fitted it into a spare Partner Machine frame she scavenged.

I do, primarily to help my level of immersion into what I'm playing. Yeah, I like mild escapism.

When playing WoW I played on an RP server, though I never did any of that silly storyline RP stuff. I just acted in my character's persona in the given world- he was a guy who spent most of his time either exploring or hunting/killing for profit. No drama, please. For PSU there isn't really a section that RPers can call theirs, and as such I never find myself in the situation to engage in 'casual RP'.

Though I'll admit I'm tempted, I won't regale with my brief bios on NA-403, Neumann Volberg and Cpt. Braham for essentially the reason that Shimarisu so tactfully worded.

Me: Raine Ranisa, A.K.A Sexy Raine- Age 23, but look 19. I was raised tough and my looks did not prevent me from being a guardian. I have one goal in mind, and that's to become PSU's fiiiiinest. I've become so dominate in what I do, that people look up to me. My two servants, Da ANALyzer and Nova who greatly respect me, needed my guidance and and I support them. Without me, they would be begging for Meseta, with no where to go. Luckily ,I was nice enough to let then join me. However, I am harsh, it's tough to impress me, but I believe they will one day.

I want to become the best and fiiiiinest guardian, through hard work and effort. With my boss-girl attitude, do not attempt to date me, and do not piss me off, you'll be looked down upon. Many are intiminated by me because of that, my cute and sexy looks are very decieving. And if your short, you will literally be looked down upon, because I'm quite tall! I work hard for this status, and only expect my servants to do the same.

I made up a few short things for two of my characters.

Neo MkII is the same Neo from my old 'The Offline Adventures' story (his name is based off of Neo Geo Pocket, the gaming device), though by some way he managed to survive the 500 years of war and 100 years of peace. He lost contact with his three closest friends, Tristan, Leo, and Lance. Thinking they were all but dead, he gave up hope of seeing them again. Through some twisted form of fate, Both Tristan and Leo have managed to survive the long, almost 1000 year span. He is an expert with distance weaponry, and holds a bottle of alcohol for Tristan in his Chest Cavity.

Hoogerbrugge is a mad Iron Chef, who is still upset that the show went under. Due to his fractured state of mind, he tends to beat things with lightbulbs. Of course, he tries to gather as much food as possible from the creatures on the various planets, and hopes to one day open his own restaurant, "Spicy Prime A-plus Meals". (5 bonus points to those who get the joke) Quite a fighter, he only uses revolvers for distance weaponry as he states that it 'adds flavour'.

I've been toying with a bio for my main. I always enjoy thinking of backstories for my characters, and getting into character whenever possible. Like people mentioned earlier in this thread, though, i tend to stay away from the big "storyline character plot development onoooes!"... too much drama, not enough fun, and nothing really changes.

Anywho, onto the bio!

Name: Miyoko Mommsen
Race: Caseal
Age: 4 years old
Class: Ranger
Bio: Miyoko was never designed to be a ranger, or any type of fighter. She was the last prototype models of a new line of casts designed by the folk on the Guardian colony, to aid the citizens in their daily activities. Yes, she was designed to be a maid; A multipurpose caseal for personal use. She was programmed to be helpful to anyone who would need the assistance, and had an impressive database of various day-to-day facts so that she could help with any types of tasks one would normally encounter in their household.

Although she was in no way designed to be involved in any type of combat, her design involved the same military grade renewable photon reactor, to ensure a long life and no need to be replaced (as well as meeting the highest levels efficiency available); high horsepower and energy output, for raw strength to help humans and newmans with tasks they're generally too weak to do; and dexterity to accomplish things quickly, and show an extremely gentle side towards those who desired it (as well as children, pets, infants, the like). Of course, the design was quite different from military models, but the specs were very close.

Approximately a year and a half after Miyoko's creation, a small, rogue group of humans and numans centralized on Parum, had begun to create a virus targeting casts and caseals. Having grown tired of the casts elitist attitudes on parum, and thinking that beings of flesh and bone could do a better job governing the planet, they seeked to wipe out the casts (the majority, or at least, change the purely cast government) controlling parum.

They designed a virus that would spread itself in moderation, to not have a sudden and very noticible epidemic. The virus would directly, but subtly change the casts behaviour, slowly making them more and more aggressive towards other casts, to the point in which they would attack them. If the casts didn't destroy eachother, they figured people would see them to be a possible, genocidal threat, and would choose to disable casts everywhere.

The virus only affected a small number of casts and caseals, enough so that the incident wouldn't become a full blown panic among citizens. Despite a few casts being severely damaged, the rogues were caught, and eventually the whole ordeal was forgotten.

Miyoko was among one of the casts who was affected by the virus, but she was one of the later victims. They were able to detect the virus, and erradicate it from her system. However, it made irreversable changes to her programing, though none of which were very serious.

She was still timid and shy, obedient and efficient. At a first glance, she appeared to be no different than before. However, she had become extremely aggressive towards those who posed as a threat towards her family / owner / etc., such as muggers and burglars, and would quickly and often utilize her natural strength and dexterity to dispatch them (and would be polite in doing so, too!)

Having a 'maid that kicked ass' often made people rather uncomfortable, and made finding work somewhat of a challange for the caseal. However, being on the guardians colony, a much less populated place than the major cities on the planets, the Guardians were quick to notice the young caseal, and brought to light the possibility of being a guardian. Her personality quickly lead her to agree.

... Of course she is designed to be a maid, and still works part time as one...

I'm like Uriko... I like to have a backstory to my characters, but I never really roleplay.

I don't really have backstories worked out for my characters yet. Since Neika is a reference to Nei and Rika, chance are she's going to come from Algol as a sort of intergalactic outreach program. Now that they've overcome their terrible legacy, they send agents out to neighboring planets and civilizations to help them overcome their own hardships. Neika is a sort of experiment, one of the first Numans produced after rediscovering their genetic code in Palman DNA. (Rui, the son of Rika and Chaz, was a successful crossbreed of Human & Numan - and his genes eventually spread throughout the entire population) She was sent to Gurhal after the 10th generation Lutz used his foresight to see that a new darkness was once again spreading.

After a few slight genetic modifications and cultural adjustments, Neika arrived in Gurhal shortly after Ethan Waber's exploits had come to a conclusion. She joined the Guardians there to take an active hand in making sure that the darkness was not allowed to spread.

As a traditional Numan, Neika is only 1 or 2 years of age, but is far more intelligent than most Numans even in Gurhal. She dresses lightly, and is capable of both decent melee combat and support techniques.

As for my FOcaseal Arisa, there is no backstory for her - though her and Neika's path will probably intersect at some point. She does have one point of personality in that she refuses to use Zonde type techniques after being scarred and nearly terminated by an errant lightning strike on the plains of Parum.

My character, Eat Me Daddy, is a sociopath who likes to kill helpless animals because they shit meseta and valuable items at their deaths. All day, all night, he just likes to whack poor, defenseless forest creatures with swords and laser bats and whatever other objects of trauma he has lying around. Naturally, given Eat Me's total lack of conscience, greed and deep lust for innocent blood, he chose to become a Guardian, because apparently, that's what the cops do in Phantasy Star land: run around murdering sweet l'il furbabies and duckies and lizards and collecting the treasures they shit.

Also, he deeply believes that we can start again, that we're all on the same ship, and it's called Starship Earth. (Even though "Earth" has fuck all to do with PSU and Eat Me Daddy doesn't even know what "Earth" is.)

Yoshimi's reasons for fighting are personal, she lost her brother in the original SEED incident (Ethan's story) when the AMF bombarded a corrupted area he was in. He is missing, presumed dead, and she blames the AMF for killing him as well as the GUARDIANS for not saving him. Her true motives as a double agent remain unknown, but whispered rumours suggest she is out to expose corruption in both organizations.

- A very smart yet brash girl. She becomes one of the roommates that live in a quad Pink Mag. Selfish and somewhat stubborn she tends to pick on Seriri for fun.

Seriri (Beast Female Fortetecher)
- She is not your regular type of beast who have been demeanored and stereotyped as messy, nonformal, and dirty. She is very kind and gentle and is appreciated about the things around her. Heavy ridiculed in school, she cries over the simple teases.

Shizuru's Pearl (Cast Female Fortefighter)
- A bodyguard to look over Seriri. Not much is known about her except for being pessimistic.

I’ve been following PSU for sometime now and only stopped lurking on the forums and created an account due to how close the EU is to its release. I find in RPGs that allow for character customisation I end creating a bio unconsciously out of a mixture of boredom and anticipation. Though, whether I act upon that bio once the game is released depends upon whether I can associate with likeminded gamers.

Previously a sergeant in the Allied Military Forces; a considerable achievement for a Human on account of his species’ “deficiencies”, as perceived by his former CAST superiors, having long chafed under the restrictive protocols of the AMF the sudden invasion of the entities known only as SEED and the Allied Military’s cumbersome attempts to combat the threat were the catalyst he needed to take a more appropriate path for himself. Deciding to resign his commission he joined the GUARDIANS in order to better tackle the SEED menace in a more dynamic way.

Not one to shy away from responsibility Kay is a competent leader capable of making tough decisions on the fly as well as a shrewd tactician garnered from his years of military service as a soldier. Upon relocating to the GUARDIANS colony from Parum Kay soon gained a reputation as a professional and talented Hunter. Part of Kay’s success can be attributed to his upbringing where since childhood he’d flourished under the tutelage of Rolent Vasra; a long time ally of the Carva family and Kay’s personal combat instructor.

However some individuals, both Human and CAST alike would go as far as to say that it was because his household is affiliated with a prominent CAST, if somewhat mysteriously so, that he was accepted into the AMF and climbed up the ranks of the military as far and as fast as he did. Such poisonous and often jealous rumours, when touted by Humans, have always been a stain upon his families’ honour.

Ironically this has pushed him to excel further in order to quash the accusations levelled against him and as a result he has grown into something of an activist; one who is eager to champion the worth of Humans whenever and wherever he feels it’s under threat.

A cultured and well-educated man Kay’s calm exterior and sharp wit belies a ruthless tenacity to tackle the wrongs of the Gurhal solar system head on. Moral to a fault; every action he takes is charged with a staggering amount of conviction that few can deny. His strong sense of what is “just” has earned him many admirers as well as more than his fair share of enemies throughout his brief career as a Guardian, yet Kay would have it no other way.

Rolent Vasra has served the descendants of the Human Carva family on Parum for generations as a mentor and confidant, much to the disdain of many CASTs associated with the ruling elite of the planet, whose unwavering memory banks recall a being of legendry calibre during the strife that existed before the sentient machine race took the destiny of the planet from their former Human masters and ushered in a seemingly utopian society via their own precise and analytical hands.

The Carva’s, grateful for the support that Rolent has provided them with throughout the years have never pried into his past out of reverence for the wise CAST, all the more significant in a time when Humans are in truth no more than second class citizens beneath the smothering authoritarian supremacy of the CAST’s leadership. Rolent would have it no other way as for years he has kept a secret buried deep within his very core, a burden that his near flawlessly designed mind can never erase.

Content to train his protégé Kay, the current heir to the Carva legacy, he’s watched with approval as the young Human child grew from strength to strength into a capable adult under his instruction. Adamant in his denial of having any influence in Kay’s successful military career he was nonetheless disappointed by his charge’s decision to leave the AMF, seeing Kay as an example to others of his race that Humans were worthy of respect rather than mere tolerance.

Yet when SEED mercilessly struck the planets of the Gurhal system he couldn’t fault his pupils’ logical solution to combat the problem in the most efficient manner by joining the GUARDIANS; an organisation that didn’t stifle his Human traits but rather encouraged Kay to flourish more as an individual than he ever could under the Allied Military’s CAST run doctrine.

Kay’s righteous condemnation of SEED was like a spark that had ignited a part of his system long thought dormant. Rather than watch from the sidelines he decided to act upon this rediscovered directive and aid his forthright apprentice as well as test his combat capabilities after over a century of inactivity. With the stakes as high as they were before the Tripartite Treaty for the survival of all the inhabitants of Gurhal, by facing this new threat he wondered whether he could develop a method to settle his sins once and for all.

Wheat is an ex-hunter dating from around the Ragol incident.After he and his friends from the 72nd Bricklayers team of the Hunter's Guild defeated target Olga Flow decided to celebrate at a party for the unveiling of a jumpgate portal.Wheat along with his longtime cast partner King in Yellow and fellow Hunter Erim decided it would be more comical to get plastered before the ceremony.They were voluntered to be the first objects to be transported through the gate to prove that it worked...unfortunatly King not being the brightest of castkind decided to push random buttons on the machine before it was operated.The resulting mishap flung Wheat and the whole 72nd team into the future.Shortly after their forced arrival the jump gate aparatus the team was in had a horrible accident with a tricycle and was damage beyond repair,causing it to explode and leave nothing left of the machine,and since the test run was a failure the scientist in the past gave up on the project so it was never created leaving no similar aparatus for King to push random buttons on to get them back.Shortly after realizing their Meseta was running low Wheatpenny and the 72nd Bricklayers became licensed Guardians and still stick it to the SEED no matter where they are.Wheatpenny's brash and crazed methods make him a constant target to diciplinary action by the Guardians but no one can deny the fact he gets results.

A Hunter from the Algol Star System, Stryfe has come accross various Galaxies, mysteriously appearing wherever Photon readings are unstable in various planets.

It is also beleived that he is a descendant of the great Layan known as Lyle, one who was able to transform his being into that of a Dragon over 3,000 years ago.

It is unsure what mysterious power the Layan hunter obtains, being that many Layans were granted a distinctive power, but his supernatural strength seems to be derived from Photon energy, seemingly becoming stronger as he nears uncharted and unstable Photon energy readings that emit from many of the contaminated creatures that seem to be infected by it, along with his natural Layan connection to many of the planets that contain life.

Not many believe in the Layan Hunter's cause, or that he is even a Layan, being that the Algol Star System has been non-existent for over 1,000 years since it's sun mysteriously imploded, destroying the Algol System and every living being within the Galaxy.

According to the Hunter, his sole purpose is to rise every 1,000 years when the "Dark One" awakens.

Presidents accross many Galaxies have dismissed his claims, but many older model Casts have deemed the hunter...
