Even if it does work it would lag so hard it would be a waste of time.

My friend plays PSU just fine on 56k.
Granted, he plays on PC, but I suppose it could work...

I don't think those 2 words should be used int he same sentance when refering to an online game. Might aswell run the game on a toaster

Wow, considering your sig is "Winning an argument on the internet is like being in the special olympics. Even if you win, your still retarded.", its ironic you are starting an arguement.

What about an extremely fancy toaster, like so:

It literally prints images on toast.

if i wasnt in a slightly sour mood, i would have gotten a chuckle out of that pic. you know, I played pso just FINE on dial up. I played perhaps 6 or so other games online without fail. network info only uses 3-10kb/s usually if im correct. so... why is 50.6kb/s such a fobidden fruit?

Because you can only download at 5kbs and it for only like 10-15$ more you can get DSL. Not to mention it is generally failure for games that arent low demand.

To be quite honest, it will run (on PC that is),
But the moment you hit a lag spike, you run the risk of getting your ass handed to you.

I'm constantly having to save my friend when he spikes, so you may not enjoy suddenly dying out of nowhere.

You forget that some people can't get DSL. I play it on 50.6KBS it runs fine on PC with slight lag. I have no experience on the PS2 however.

Tell your parents to stop being tight-walleted batches of german cookie dough and to get cable.

Hit the nail on the head there,
My friend can't get DSL without paying an arm and a leg.

Somewhere in the range of $65+,
Meanwhile I pay a mere $19 something...

Strange thing is, he lives right across the street.
(The houses he lives in are much older and never got any kind of network built in when constructed.)
How crappy is that?

It will not work. The only way is to route your internet connection thru your PC somehow. If you want to know how it is done, mail Xenokai on these forums. He has done it before and if you ask him nicely then I'm sure he'll be willing to lend a hand.

The label on the PS2 version says Broadband Connection Only.

Thats because its the only plug and play support they give. Dailup on the other hand is abit complicated. Plus its not recommended due to updates / lag.
