Argh! Stop taunting me with your early copies! Curse you all!

I actually went down today to try and blag a copy - a shop near me (Action Replay) actually had the things on the shelf! With the price tag and everything!

So there I was, with one very huge and inane grin on my face. I bounded up to the counter and tried to buy it, but apparently I must've pissed off God good and proper because it was the last copy and they didn't want to sell it until Friday when they had some more in. Boo.

I still paid though. Now all I have to do is go down Friday at 8:30 reciept in hand to claim it!

I doubt I'm missing much though, I've played the JP Story Mode to death (best feature: the way the Japanese Ethan introduces himself in cutscenes - "Ee-tan-uuuweeeEEEEBAH!") and am really only buying it for the online mode which won't be available until Friday anyway. I hope.

Better hurry up! As soon as online becomes available, you won't be going back! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

The last few chapters are quite long...

Leave it untouched. You're better off, trust me.

I have the US game, so no point in trying to get the EU one before time. I will get it Friday, though.

Damn! Still, it's unopened so hopefully I'll be able to return it. They occasionally have US imports in (such a CoM), I was hoping they'd have Final Fantasy III or Contact in, but no such luck.

Shame really, Secret of Mana on the SNES was one of my most favourite games!

Sadly CoM has little to do with SoM. It's a really dull and repetitive dungeon hack with a bare skeleton of a story. I know the last part could sound a bit like PSO, but it's not. You could read some reviews though. Don't just trust me!

FFIII DS though, yum.

Y'know, as much as I loved SoM in Jr High, looking back at it, as unbiased as one can, without my rose colored fond memory glasses... You could just as easily been describing good ole' SoM there, Callous. Repetitive dungeon hack with little story.

I still remember my character's names for that game though. The main character was Wren, as that's my name, the girl was named Girl, as that was in her description when you named her, and the sprite was Limon...for the lemony lime taste of a Sprite.

good old SoM... i never forget that barrel you could put ontop of you.
friend and me played it and the hero died at that one guy before the dragon at the end... we ressed him with our last item but it didnt worked... so we had to fight the dragon without the mana sword coz the hero had it equipped.. damn that took loooong http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I played SoM for the first time about 2 years ago, so my glasses aren't that tinted. However good I recognize it as being, it still wouldn't even make my top 25. BUT, it is leagues better than Children of Mana. Compared to CoM, SoM's story seems almost deep ... and it has an overworld where CoM has one village. One. SoM is just overall so much more engaging, much less repetitive in its environments and it's generally a hell of a lot more fun.

This is all, obviously, just my opinion. I know I'm far from alone with it, though!

I meant it in the sense that, when they enter the Wachootoo (sp? lol) tribe village, the greeting they use is "Mwabwetumba" and Ace says it: "Bumble bee tuna!" http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
