Are you talking about the PSU servers or the PlaySega servers (the billing site)?

The billing site is down at the moment, so they can add the PSU guardian licence for us U.K players...

There was also game server maintainence today, probably to prepair for the hordes!

Still, that means either one of two things:
1/ They're updating the system for EU subsribers.
2/ It's EXPLODED.

The same thing happened when they where adding the US Guardian licences. I don't recall how long it took, though...

Well, if you play offline and do the first...I think it's three mission, you unlock extra mode which lets you play around with the charactor creator. There aren't many clothes at first...but I think there are more in stores online and I think even more get added in updates.

Nope, no license key. No CD key for PC versions either so I'm assuming it's a case of leaving the DVD in the drive while playing (I haven't actually tried to boot the game up without the disc in).

at the start up there pops up the screen with the sega-link-id and password... is it the normal sega-id i use for playsega or what? well i put that in and still cant connet... maybe coz playsega is down? it cant be my connection or firewall...i got everything configured so i "could" play
ive searched in my manual but it isnt such a big help either...

EDIT : the error message is: "no answer from DNS server" so mebbe it is the servers? ._.

Yay! What did you put in it?

It connects to the internet every time you play, even if you're only playing offline. I think that's how it does security check-type things.

Well since charachters are stored on the server and in an account, I don`t see how it could be possible to make a char before registring your account.
Trust me, it`s really best that way.

When you load it up you should get a little menu. At the top is story mode (offline) and under that is network mode. Sounds like you clicked on network mode, 'cause that's what happens when you choose it.

Yeah. You don't need a password or ID to play offline. It only "requires" a connection to play offline so that GameGuard can update and run. Or so I believe.

Most mmorpg`s runs without cd/DVDs, but I agree the Cd key was a mistake, they still makes some money though:)
I know PSU might not be a pure mmorpg, so lets not discuss that detail..

Yeah, I thought so. You CAN save offline data to the servers, but you don't HAVE to. It's under the options menu before you start up the actual game.

EDIT: Asra, check the options and look for the "Do not save game data on server" checkbox. It's the bottom one. You should be playing offline without an ID then. ^_^

well gameguard works without probs.. it even updated... but however, iif i start offline or online mode the screen is black with a little window in which i got to put my SEGA ID and password.. i did and yeah... DNS error

Well that is surprising about the no play disc/no serial key, but I guess the revenues from the game will come from subscriptions rather than copies sold (normally online games on the PC are a secondhand no-no).

Lol! Hyuga...God, his voice is pretty annoying. You get used to it, surprisingly. Ethan has a great voices when you get used to it too. Just some of the things he actually says are crazy. Tonnio has a good voice. And Magashi sounds like the Mad Claw (was that his name?) from Inspector Gadget. "I'll get you next time, Ethan...NEXT TIME."
