I saw people bidding thousands for a suit of Greater Shadow armor in Asheron's Call back in the fall of 2000, before the end of the Shadow War.

It can be tempting if you have only a few hours a week to play online and you want to keep up with friends. Some people have jobs, family and other priorities. I play a few hours on Thursday nights usually, then hit the sack. By the time the next Thursday rolls around, my newest friends are usually 15-20 levels higher than me. It's not that I don't want to do all the quests -- but the main reason I play PSO is the social interaction.

I guess you couldn't be considered strictly legit if you bought items from eBay, though, huh?

I'm not saying I would do it. But I definitely can see where it would be tempting.

rofl..On a game i play, some dude ripped me off for all my gear. So i emaled the programer of the game and he had all his gear deleted..The best part is he PAID for all of his gear! ROFL..He ended up getting it back like a month or so later.

I miss the days of people bidding on Handguns on Ebay for PSO.

That was just so sad to see people bidding on it, when all they had to do was accidently kill afew monsters in Forest 1 and they'd have enough Handguns to trip over.

Buying game items on ebay is utterly retarded.

Accounts I can sort of understand. It's the whole package. And some people like to not do the work but get the rewards. In DAoC selling items (but not gold for some reason) will get you banned. But selling accounts is ok.

Selling/buying game items on ebay is still utterly retarded though.

How crazy...I've seen $15 auctions for 100k meseta.

If you're really that obsessed and rich, then by all means, no one's stopping you from buying these items. But all you need is 4 runs through VHard Ruins, and you will have 5-10 times more money, and a few rares to go with it to ^_^

How stupid is that? eventually people will get their hands on those items and dupe them up, if they arent already. Those 10 bucks wasted on somenthing anyone else can get just by askin... STUPID
