The good ol' red box

Anybody else think that the old PSO style red boxes were cooler looking and more exciting than this crap we have now?

You see this bright red box floating around and when you highlight it you get a nice hud with lots of bright stars and an icon.


Now you have these dullish looking redish odd shapes and half the time its some lame board or somthing anyways, not a rare weapon or anything like that.


Oh I am just remenising on memories of my yas 9000, psyco wand, aura field, flame garment, frozen shooter, and the slew of cool double sabers.

It's even better now if you ask me, we just don't have any rare drops just yet. They have cool icons, S-Ranks are gold icons of weapons/armor. It's awesome.

I liked the old boxes and being able to drop things in the city. I loved flooding the stage with lame rares in Offline mode, dancing around in the sea of red boxes, and then turning the game off. Apparently, if you put too many, once you break the 100-item mark on the ground or something, they start to overwrite each other. That's why you should just turn the game off.

I would see mirages of the old red boxes while playing PSO. Would have to look three times just to make sure I didn't really see one ;P. These new ones don't have the same effect. I wish they would have made the title "Rare" more exclusive and not included stupid Scape Dolls and others I will not mention.

I found out that presents have their own cute little wrapped-up box when you drop them. I should wrap up junk like [b]Monomates between runs and leave them around at random when I'm out with a group. Heh heh. Might even start some Santa rumors.

I usually wrap stuff at the NPC item shops in lobbies. Dunno if the shops in towns offer the service. Don't really see why they wouldn't, though...

I sort of miss the PSO box style, but I am ok with the new ones. I just wish Moon Atomozier X boards and Kubara Wood and a few things like that werent rares. They are decidedly anticlimatic. Give me my Varista dammit. lol. Soon enough though yeah, we'll fine more interesting rares.

And speaking of which, Safety Heart. I LOVE the fact that it is back here in PSU. My quest can continue. I searched SO long for Invisible Guard on GC and never got it. Nightmares of Gunners. LOL's on a side note, after playing fight for food c so many darn times I had a TON ....yes, a TON of Moon Atomizer X boards so instead of selling them for pitties I wrapped all of them up and on a party mission moved wayyyyyy ahead of the group and took a present dump! I completely agree. The bright red color of previous rares made you snap up and say "OMG!" even when you were tired as hell.
