its kinda thick.....
http://www.psu-wiki.info/upbbs/lib/printimage.php?id=00000027

so yea, there is something that can stop our argue with luck.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a56/therealanthony/Untitled-11.gif

the 1st line is saying that Star Luck is really affect the weapon griding system. (no doubt that, we all know)
the 2nd line is saying that The Party leader's luck will influence the whole mission and the other member

so that means that plz people dont HOLD their leader position , if they dont have the higher luck(idk why people want to hold that...)
and 2nd thing is no matter who open the box, the luck is still follow by the party leader.

ps2. and plz dont say something like "u cant stop what they wanna do...", i didnt try to stop that, if they give the leadership to the higher luck person, just make everyone happier.

EDIT : damn, cant display jap. - modedit: indeed
EDIT2 : found the open box thing....

I have a comic book about that big I have been reading http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

JUMP!

its good to learn because it has the little subtitles for the kanji wich is what I cant read, however alot of them are so small I cant make them out and since its hand written, just like how alot of us have horrible american handwriting, you can only imagine what that does to sombody trying to read a forign language, even worse one like japanese that has several symobls that look almost the same.

They really cant talk about future stuff too much since there is no definite on when/how it will be released.

its easy to eat up pages with lore, pictures, usless info, beastiry, stats pages, drop charts, drop %'s, maps ect ect.

and the fun fact for today! : try to avoid using "jap" like the OP did for the title and use JP instead. Jap is a racial slur and can offend people.

I was there I know http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Its like the crappy american strategy guide... in brick form o.o. I actually want this for tables and graphs and such. Not to mention this i'm sure would be a great help to the PSU/PSUpedia community for the information that is contained inside.

(Upon writing this has realize that wouldn't it make sense to have a 2nd volume and in the late future an encyclopedia of PSU?)

The leaders luck will take effect the next time the game has to load a map, common sence.

So changing the leader half way to the boss might not work and you might have to totaly remake the mission for it to take effect and tell the server the luck rate.

I'm one of those who doesn't care about loot or luck when I'm grinding for EXP or Mission Points.

I usually form my own missions, and if you don't like that I won't give a random group member leader for his luck, then you can leave for a group that has a leader with level 3 luck.

Maybe we ignore it because giving out leadership willy nilly to the first stranger who comes in with the luck of the day isn't that great of an idea. You have no idea what he's going to do, he might kick you and others out, he might change the loot settings on the next run, you don't know. Granted, most won't stoop so low, but even so, be wary of who it goes to.

its 1995 yen wich is about 2k yen I got a 0 on there for some reason.

anyways I always am just really rough with yen --> usd and move the decimal 2 places over wich makes it about 20$
if you google a actual currency converter it works out to be 17 and change tho.

sad but true. Japan gets all of the pulp style in depth guides on games (not to mention the nice full color type guides).

There are a couple of reasons.
#1. It is probably safe to say that this game hasn't been a "hit" in the United States and Europe. The highest online number I've seen online is around 30,000. A small online number like that is already a limiting number.
#2. It would take a while to translate this book. By the time it was translated and released here, most of the information in the book probably wouldn't be relevant or exciting anymore.

That does make sense. Japan is much more oriented about the whole idea of merchandising so much behind a videogame product. It's more of a rarity to see such done for anything, in the west, but perhaps a few super popular games. And even so, those things are more limited than what is seen more in Japan.

So it doesn't even have that same level of stuff for it, regardless of popularity. Case in point. Blizzard and Bioware. Do you usually see some perfect bible for their games? Even if they have a ton of information that can easily go into one of those Perfect Bibles, and even if they sell like 6+ million copies of their stuff, you wont see that.

Heck, some Japanese special game releases come with a Music box, or a Tea set.

Now that I think of it, since we get rings with Neverwinter Nights 2, why can't we get a Tea set, too?

(For those long Neverwinter Nights...you can enjoy a nice cup of tea or two with your adventure.)

Honestly, there is no need to translate 700 pages. Half of the book contains information we already know about (gameplay mechanics, Story Mode, maps, etc...). The interesting information is contained in the book's final sections on item information, drop charts, and onine quests. Even in those sections, we already know most of the information. So that makes the amount of material to translate somewhat more manageable.

Hm, I'm kind confused as for the numbers it mentions regarding the Luck influences.. I wonder where they ever got those from. Moreover, I see they use the same term for the 'Luck' thing except don't use simplified characters for it, like in Japanese. That's so cool. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I reckon most of the useful info in that book will be available here, at http://www.psupedia.org and at http://www.gamefaqs.com in about a year... so I wouldn't worry too much...

It's 2k yen, not 20k. Or is it? Still! ;_; That's like 200 dollars just for the guide.

I recently ordered the Perfect Bible from Amazon.com of Japan. The book is truly beautiful with an INSANE amount of information, all of which I can't read. Still there are quite a few full color, images, maps and weapons pictures with number stats that are easy to understand. This book is also not that expensive since 1900 Yen (the books cover price) is about $16.

Luck also depends on who started the mission as it makes the layout according to the luck associated...so if you switch mission it'll still play on that leader's luck

I have this Mozilla Translator Extension, and I was laughing at what came up in the Mission Maps section.

Network mode map
[gadeianzu] colony
“Communication passage breaking”
“Plant recapture”
Palm door
“Primeval living thing compacting”
You sleep “in the inner part of the ruins, mono”
“Dominant person of grassy plain”
“The rare animal which deviates”
“Research facility recapture”
“Remnant of ended ram”
[niyudeizu] door
“[mizuraki] preserve defense”
“Misfortune flying animal suppression”
“Green forest breaking”
“Akanashi of fanatic”
“Legal animal of rainbow color”
“Sanctuary recapture”
[motoubu]
“Sealing device defense”
“Sand animal of most misfortune”
“Valley of timber chute”
“Mine defense”
Appearance tendency of column “rare item”

Heh...

Most of those "misfortune" animals are Onmagoug types I believe.

“Plant recapture”
I never really understood how this became "Fight for food". Plant is even written in katakana.

I remember there was a "Fight for Foods" in PSO's Guild missions. They probably wanted to give a sort of relation between the two missions XD

Also noteably, in the story mode I, at least in the US version, that stage is located in the food production area so... I guess it can be Fight for Food name

Perhaps, I just remember when PSU came out stateside, most of the names people were using I had some idea of what the area was since I knew the areas names kinda sorta. But Fight for food was just like "what?" It wasn't until I actually played that area that I knew what it was. And it still confused me.

Why can't they employ good translators these days? I bet SoJ just all try and translate it themselves to save on costs, lol.

Plants are used for food, and the SEED have taken over the facility used to grow said food. Recapturing it would require you fight the SEED...

They ship internationally as well on any products they have in their warehouse. It helps if you can read some japanese though (because their english section is a joke).

I've been through this book and in all honesty there isn't much information that isn't already known (as far as I know) NA-side.

The best parts would be the area maps and the mob/door spawn/triggers so you stop overlooking mobs when running through Neudaiz and Moatoob missions.

The weapon database is awesome, has pictures of unreleased S-ranks that no one knows how to get yet (both offline and online). Their complete PA list also includes relative hits-to-level, which was kind of eye-opening seeing how Barta/Zonde needed 4x more hits to level than Diga (well... I think people knew that already but there it's confirmed lol) and Ra-spells needed around 50% less hits to level than Barta/Zonde lol, and Gi-spells even fewer.

The Shieldline list is cool because it also lists the "hidden" bonuses (like Solidline gives +20atp/+10ata/+20tp)

Also has tiny pics of the clothes, but only in the default color.

List of mobs and their possible unique drops by level (including bosses), list of synth ingredients and Crea boards and where you can get them (area-specific photons etc.)

They also have a complete list of the PM lolibot upgrades but don't say how they would be gotten short of feeding your current loli a PM Device.

Shows that there are event Jaggos (Jaggo Sonichi lol) as well as Rappies

Didn't see anything else deathdefying http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif
