Currently,
I have a lvl 25 Beast Hunter
I have a lvl 28 Cast Ranger
I have a 1vl 1 Newman Force

I'm wondering how bandly I'm hurting myself by wanting to have 3 seperate characters... or if this is an acceptable way to go, nonwithstanding the fact that I'd have to obtain mission points for all three if I wanted to play Adv. Classes with all three.

Just a bit of Pro/Con discussion before I go too much further.

The big Pro I'm looking at, is that I prefer to play the best race for each class.

Con being, I could in theory play a human (which I don't like playing as, sorry.) and play all three on one character, but if I play all three on a non-human, one or more of the classes suffer, while one is outstanding.

Thoughts? (I could act like I'm on certain well known forums and say "Discuss", but that always sounds so pompus)

I think it's totally up to you, really. Being the best of what you can do is, of course, best. But that is kind of what PSO was like, pick a class & stay as that class untill the end. Some didin't like that. PSU now offers a little mixing around to spice up the game. If you prefer to go for the forte-class, by all means, do it. Afterall, you can always change you mind. PSU allows that. ;]

So again, it's about your play style. It's not wrong or right, just preferences.

imo, race/class issues is far less of an issue than the PA (BA/Techs included) caps, as there's a maximum of 36 that a single character can learn. I'd rather have a character have his/her own set of PA/BA/Techs than to have to have ones that the character won't be using (such as having Techs when being a non-Tech class). Besides, having alts means that I can party with others who are far lower than I am without holding back.

Good point... Leaves my options very open for playing with friends who pick the game up.

I have always found having alts is good since you can specialise in one field with each character, but as mentioed, psu allows change, so its not 100% necesary. Personally I would have more than 1 character and make their race fit their primary job (newman force, beast hunter, cast/human ranger)

It's all a matter of preference. I'm personally hanging 3 jobs on each of my two characters. I have a newman going Wartecher>Fortetecher>Guntecher and a human going Protranser/Figunner>Guntecher (for the bows, damnit!). Just remember that you have 36 PA slots, so don't get 15 melee weapon types that you don't like and 15 bullets you don't use then try to switch to Fortetecher or something!
