I want the claw PM... but

My stats are currently 26 striking 27 ranged and 6technic. On psupedia it says that I cant take ranged or striking above 30 if I want to have the claw PM, but on the PM generator they have, as long as I don't take striking to 30, I'll be allright and ranged can be 30+. So my question is, can I take ranged above level 30 if want the claw PM?

No, those stats are seperate from its combat stats. Those levels affect its synthing abilities.

The individual stats are only used for synthing, so the armor stat wont translate into a stronger PM in battle etc.

"I believe this all refers to stat balances before the actual, final evolution. IE - keep Striking below 30 until your Partner Machine hits level 80.

To answer your question - knock yourself out. Keep Striking at 29 or lower until level 80 and spam the @#$% out of Range if you want. After level 80, you can even start boosting Striking, if you so desire.
