FanArt: Si'ev and Raia

Long story short.
I was doodling this one and liked it.

Then I was trying to polish it up, and well started to not like it anymore.

Anyway. So the final version is a sketch.

Polished isn't too bad, but I agree this version looks better.

A problem with polishing work is you lose alot of the "style" that your sketchwork had. Like sketchy its very loose, lots of lines re-drawn over and over. It is very stylized. Colored and cleaned you lose it.

Sure you can have a stylized coloring job, but it still is not the same! I prefer sketchy also. Some change in her lips would make the purple lip effect appear. (Like a darker shade in the sketchy)

Yeah I much prefer the sketch to the colored version. The lack of "polish" really adds to the style. I've said it before "I have seen a lot of good pictures ruined by color".

Every once in a while we need a reminder of just how much naviart kicks ass. This little gem definitely delivers in that department. <3 <3 <3 Raia's face is wicked gorgeous and emotive, 'specially those eyes.

The color could be salvaged with a little more work, but wouldnt compare to the b/w anyway~

The PSU Si'ev is actually older than the PSO one. The PSO one died at the age of like, 3 or something. This one get to grow up a little bit more, bit more angry, and less trusting and pleasant.

Raia is the new R'aan. XD

Ya, actually, Raia is not even close to being a giant. But see, if it was real proportioned, Raia's head wouldn't have fit into the picture. Maybe you will see a tuft of hair and that's all.

The sketch itself actually took, er hm, hour-ish if not less? I spent many hours during the next couple days hoping to polish it all up and I ended up posting the sketch as a finished product. >.>
