Cards or Crossbows?

For those of you who have used both...which did you like better? I'm trying to decide what I should buy to go along with my wands. In a perfect world I could try both and decide for myself but at 90,000 meseta a pop I'd rather just cut straight to the chase.

Can you strafe with both of them?

Cards appear to fire slower than crossbows. How does the damage compare between the two?

Which is more fun to use?

Then in that case I'd take crossbow over cards considering Guntecher has an S rank in them.

No, that's why I was quick to assume you were either War or Forte-techer.

I wouldn't picture too many Guntechers relying on a wand with lvl 10 techs...
In any case, it's up to you, but the recommended weapon will usually just be the one with the highest rank since it's just a sidearm.

She may be a guntecher, however npcs aren't limited to the class system. Lou and Leo are figunner/hunter but will pull out a resta staff when they get low on hp.

Yeah, and I was pretty damn surprised when my 410 did it. I had no idea she had that ability.

As stated before in these threads, NPCs and PMs are not restricted to the type of weapons they use.

Except that the weapons are preset. The weapons aren't restricted by type, but each NPC/PM only has certain ones.

Lou and Claire (my GH430) might as well be my wife and daughter xD

Anyway, back on topic... go with corssbows. It starts off as an ammo-conserving handgun that shoots slower but ends up as a mini-shotgun that's more accurate. It's really quite a deal.

So...back to the topic at hand...can you move and shoot at the same time with cards? Crossbows?

You can move with both. No clue about damage (I'd guess crossbow is stronger), but cards home with their bullets, in case you didn't know.

Both are roughly the same in damage. Roughly the same ATP, both shoot 3 bullets. I think crossbow may fire slightly faster, but cards have higher elemental % and higher ATA & ability to hit things.

Cards have the highest elemental attribute on a ranged weapon I believe. Correct me if I am wrong. Personally I would go with cards for damage and xbow for tagging. Cards are basically a pointblank xbow without having to be pointblank.

Longbow has 30%, Card has 25%, twins have 24%, Rifle has 23%, Handgun is 19%, Gernade is 18%, everything else is 15 or less.

My opinion both are good depending on the situation , crossbow seens to be more dmging and will fire 3 bullets when reached to 21, also has alot of PP but lacks first person view mode and bad SE. Cards have good elemental % and SE but lacks power and im not sure can u first person view with it. Both are strafable. I wish i can get 21 bullets for figunner ;_;

For us Wartechers, Longbows are at 19%, and Handguns at a measly 5%. What elemental percentage do Cards start at?
