By the way what's a paranna?

Pops had a Piranha on the fireplace bricks, dead as a doorknob. Which is funny since how does one personify a doorknob as a deadman? Doorknobs don't die. They get used, alot. Hands all over them badboys.

It's door nail.

Back in olden times nails were a hot item. And when making your house you had to leave some nails exposed on the outside. Sneaky folk would come by and pry them out and use them for their own naily needs. So to combat this you would bash the nail in so mangled at the end that it wasn't reusable, and therefore dead.
