Without the filter, I'm guessing it would be CERO D, based on the fact that anyone could potentially say anything, which puts children at risk, I suppose. If the filter was left out, I'm guessing the ESRB would have used our equivalent of M, which means many players wouldn't have been able to purchase the game, unless the retailers were willing to break the law.

We bitch about it because of the effect it gives. There are several times when people are typing perfectly innocent sentences, and one or two words are censored causing it to look dirty.

The fact that words like "shoe" where censored to begin with is retarded. If Sega had put half as much work into other things as they did with the censor system, they would of had the perfect game.

The chat system is one of the many things wrong with the game. But in essence, it is easily one of their biggest mistakes. Highly limited number of spaces per text, text wrapping, an overly complex censorship system, and no way to change any of these things player side? It is always the simple things that are most frustrating.

Yep. I don't think any complaints were really about the lack of using swear words. Some of them were actually sarcastic. The real issue is really the perfectly innocent things that get censored, in everyday speech. I absolutely never use swear words, on PSU. Not one Iota. However, sometimes I end up having 70% of the stuff I want to say, in an hour, censored off making me retype and find what is causing it to *bleep* out.

I believe ove r15 have already been posted earlier in this thread. Things like "Isn't it," (in use for this game) "PMs," "Coke" (as in a cola or soft drink), "Saturday", and before the update "Shoe." I can understand why some of them are censored, but in general use they aren't bad words. But when you put them in a sentence where their meaning is innocent, and it comes up censored we all think the worst.

MY problem is I cannot say the most simplist words, I can't give my characters the names I want. It's hard because when you are trying too say something simple, they block it and people think you said something mean and nasty.
