I have been reading about how easssy story mode is and how it's bossess are pussies, well up to the beginning of chap 7 that seem true.
But after beating the omanga sub boss early in chap 7 all i had to do was get to where karen's father was holding her and that's where everything went to hell after dieing numerus times trying to beat a enddless stream of enemies along the path that never seem to end with a worthless and weakass lvl 26 nathan waber i just decided to give up on story mode.but i can still take my extra mode chars to all 3 world which is all i really cared about being able to do,but i'm sad i'll never get to finish story mode i still need LOU's Partner card, and i really wanted karen's card to but with that endless path of enemies and no save point anywhere in sight after the omanga sub boss fight i'll be dammed if i'm going to fight through that area over and over never being able to reach the end...

Or you could, you know, level up?

I don't know how you failed it. I didn't die at all in Story Mode. The whole thing is a bloody cake-walk.

One more thing my char has the best weapons and armor and all the healing items i could carry but at the rate i was useing them i would have had nothing left in no time. And i'm sure you don't want to try and resuce karen from here father with no suppiles left.

I was carrying 8 wands at all time, and 10 photon charges, even as a hunter, because story mode is all about endurance.

Play it and finish it, it's worth it, imho.

What were you smoking? I think I would have had more fun slitting my wrists then playing that mangled story.

I guess it's more that I wasn't smoking anything... Then again, I'm an anime-otaku and I actually love Final Fantasy 11, so feel free to brand me as an alien/mutant.

I guess it's a good thing you didn't keep playing the story mode. Slitting your wrists because you have to play a game you paid would be very sad.

I played FF XI for 3 years, what is your point? That game actually had coherant story lines.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif And just to be technical, I bought this game almost solely for the online mode. I was a huge fan of PSO (as many were) and was expecting a similar online experience from this game.

I thought the game had a good story. Its more reminiscent to an anime storyline then anything else. There are some aspects of the game that seem totally inspired by anime thats popular at the moment in Japan. I personally thought Ethan Waber was alot like Ichigo when you're first introduced to him and, Karen like Rukia when she's first presented as well.

Only time I lvled up outside of the story was before the last mission. I was 52 and tried it, fount it to be to hard then lvl up to 62 and walked right thru it (earned enough cash for 2 Sranks weapons so that might have helped). Didn't even blink at the last 2 bosses http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I was lvl 52 when I beat the game... lol lemme tell you though... those gloves and that double saber PA moves SAVED me...

lol And the way the characters talked after the credits!
They sounded way more natural at that point than during the whole game!!!

Goes to show you, they were severely restricted by the script...

What's a 'Nathan Waber' ? Is that Ethan's dad or something?

Yup. I finished the game at lvl 52 or 53 as well (no free missions except the one it makes you do). I think it had an OK storyline for a game like this... It won't ever be able to beat the overly time-intensive game called KOTOR (2 was better though).

I had 2 wands with the buffs, i was looking at the types list and saw hunters could use wands. I was all WTF I"VE BEEN USING STAR ATOMS FOR MY TEAM MATES FOR NOTHING -_-

Story mode is easy, the only time i died i had a scape doll. It was one of those things with Gibarta and wiped my team at the sea bed place.

If you don't know, why did you read the spoilers.

Nathan is infact Ethan's father.

Um, 'cause I don't really feel like doing Story Mode, but I still need to know what happened?

I played the game basically using the highest level sword I could buy/make, ending with a light element hanzo. Of course my armor was up to date, as were my slots. I never grinded for levels once, except when I was grinding dragon to learn Spinning Break. The only advice I can give you is to buy the best equipment you can (or synth, seeing how you can buy pretty much every synth material and you can save before synthing to make a synth guaranteed), keep your mates stocked, and don't suck. I never got a game over, and every death I got was made up for with a scape doll.

Sometimes, it wouldn't hurt to play the story mode.

I just partnered with Lou and now I'm in Parum in the RELICS..I hate these Megid casting terdfaces. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I don't keep up with names.

All I know is that Ethan had a Father that worked for the Gaurdians and I guess died and thus was the reason why Ethan loathed the Guardians.

Well, Karent, all she has to use is her poopy C ranked daggers on her..

Then again, they could strafe like no tomorow
