I want to get a copy of the PSU:JP Guide/Book. The one that's over 500 pages.
For those people who have one, where could I get a one?
I've looked for online bookstores but can't find any that would carry one. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
I would prefer an online store that accepts US currency/credit card.
Something like one of those anime/JP import stores or something...
Any help would be great.

Bearing in mind I can't read the page, this should link you to where you can purchase the PSU Bible:

I think we'll just be stuck with crappy Brady stuff for a while... Though I think they might translate guides from time to time... wasn't that worthless FFXI Atlas translated from a Japanese guide? I call it worthless because it was missing all of the maps of the areas in an expansion that had been out like a year...

It's a book you can deck people with if they annoy you. It's fat, it's powerful, and if you put protection around it, it's a blunt weapon!
Also, you can also try to learn Japanese from it, but that's not going to be fun. ;D

There are 78 pages of weapons, often at more than 7 weapons per page. Which is a lot of scanning and cropping. Still, someone around here might actually do it.

Man is that in kanji or katakana.I am trying to learn both and i often find just trying it with something that intrests you helps.

Problem is that you'd have to destroy the book to get good scans. Teh binding is too hard and thick on it to get anything but page outsides.

This is why one day i plan to get the handheld scanner. Its just the light n reflector in a bar that you connect via usb it has a flash drive in it.It is perfect for geting page scans without killing the poor binding.

It's not hard to get through a Japanese books or games as you might think. It does take a basic understanding on the alphabet(s). You can get that in about a 2weeks. You can also cross-reference some of the names using the PSo language select or word select(in game). Monomates are monomate even if it looks different(Burgers and Cola from PS1. lol). Alot of the Items, weps and techs have kept there names on both language versions. So, You'll get caught up in no time. It does take some work but it is worth it(if this guide is as good as they say "PSU Bible") and you get to keep the knowledge of japanese as a bonus.

And you will need a good language to language dictionary. "Yahoo.jp" can also help.

You might be able to find a local book seller that can order it for you. I ordered the PSO art book through the Japan Centre in London - all you need is the ISBN, which is 4757730543 for the PSU Bible, according to the Amazon link. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Phhht, I'll do it. Bought the guide yesterday and my first thought after browsing it was, "piece of crap". Every single bit of information I wanted to know about the new weapons, arts, and enemies was marked with a smug "???" -- especially insulting considering the book's title.. Also, don't let the 700+ pages impress you too much b/c 350 of them are concerned with story mode, excruciating details of game basics, and area maps. I think I'll start carving right now as I wait for maintence to end. *breaks "teh" binding* http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Honestly, I think there's better information at PSUwiki already. Plus, better, more complete, guides will come out if you just wait a bit.

Does the book give any details on how ATA works and what the to-hit forumla is? Also, does it give show how many hits it takes to level up various PAs and whether or not damage has any effect on how fast PAs raise?

Actually PSU-Wiki is quite outdated compared to the guide, and using the guide's info it's pretty easy to fill up the gaps. I really think it's more than a nice complement to the current state of the wikis. :e
