View Full Version : Fourth planet ideas?

I was just wondering, if you could make a fourth planet on PSU, what would it be?
Please, PLEASE don't say Ragol.
Edit: could you not say any planets from the other PS games. Here's a good example: a RELICs homeworld.

Or some planet where it's raining all the time like that one planet from Star Wars...what was it, Camino?

We'd have to wait for PSG, then. Phantasy Star Galaxy. They'd make it a new game. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

And keeping with the Tradition of PSU (also used for (Penn State University), we'd now have even more organizations with which to confuse the acronym with.

This seems the most likely, as it would require the least amount of work on Sega's part. Add a blue planet to the planet select screen, and make only one area on the planet, like a mini lobby. They'd never need to make more because the characters would drown upon entrance.

Eventually, people would complain enough that they'd need to make areas and everything for the planet, and a new race of fishy/squid peoples who could actually play there. The balancing would be accomplished by if the fishies ever tried to go to guardian's base or any other planet, they'd suffocate for lack of water, just like the humans beasts and newmans drown on their planet.

The only wrench in the plan is the cast. If they don't breathe, they wouldn't drown....speaking of which, as a living construct...how do casts get poisoned again?

Precisely why I thought of Sealab. Since it was the silliest most recent show, I can think of, that has a glassed in city.

Atlantis would be cool. I've played a few games that take you there. Indiana Jones - Fate of Atlantis, for one. The ones I've seen show the underwater aspect, but also mix in sort of that Tribal stonework architecture. Would be even more interesting if they mix in the whole Technology of Metals and Photons into it.

That's what should happen when an enemy is slain with an ice element weapon. Take a cue from Turbine and DDO, sega. Fire photon weapons should cause the mob to burn to charred ash upon death, Ice should freeze and shatter, Lightning leave them charred and smoking, etc etc. If they ever did that though, they'd need to add my acid weapons in. I liked watching orcs disintegrate.

We deal with enough flesh eating zombies in our day to day lives, just trying to scrounge out a meek existence in a world of the walking dead. We don't need to bring it into the game too.

Something like Kuran from PSIV would be really nice. Even though PSU is alot more high tech than it's prequels, it lacks a "mechanical" area, except for the mellvore seabed. Also, the mech design (cast not included) in PSIV easily crush any other PS game.

If the Universe is infinite, then there's an infinite number of possible worlds that can sustain life, thus every type of planet/species probably exists in reality.

So, we can't list any planets if we can't lists planets in reality.

I agree, there needs to be a more mechanical place. Some sort of top-secret high-tech government far-orbital base doodle-thingy that's been abandoned and gone rogue would be totally awesome.

I'm also in favor of a cloud-planet where the levels are series of floating islands and perhaps rickety old bridges between them. There'd have to be a bunch of teleporters though.

Obviously the RELICS homeworld is on parum/neudaiz and maybe moatoob. They aren't aliens
They are the past civilization. Play story mode.
And there will not be a fourth planet, for logical reasons, this game takes place in the Gurhal system. I believe Ragol maybe have existed in this system however, hence the related technology, perhaps a second migration occured long after the incindents on Ragol.

If I have to say anything, I think it would be interesting to see earth. But that is basically ragol. So I have no ideas.

No one was stipulating on anything that might actually be added in. Just something that would add an interesting twist if it was there.
Personally i would vote for the kamino/ocean planet, another star wars referance if you read the books would be Mon Calamari, Admaral Ackbar's homeworld, both ocean and jungle.

Aw, man, that'd be awesome, but even more than that, I'd like to see the slums of the cities! I mean, you know there has to be some seedy underworld of it where the power only half-works, that's ruled by drug-lords and arms dealers, where most of the enemies are humanoid like the shrine guards. Some traps, maybe, and toss in a robot or two, but yeah, that'd be awesome.

This game is in desperate need of unnecessary spiffiness. Like, last levels in FF games spiffy. As such, we either need a crystal planet (Like Rykros), a seed planet (dark and evil looking, probably look like the darkworld in metroid prime 2, only not), some light world (there aren't enough of these in video games) or a world that takes place completely underwater. It doesn't matter that humans can't breath water, aquatic sanctuaries have been done before and they can be done again. But, seeing how this is a PS game, something closer to Rykros would be preferred, because damn if I'm not a traditionalist.

Also, we need the ability to create a Nei type character without compromising. S rank on claws, lv20 techs, lv30 PAs, low defense/attack and high accuracy/evasion, and a built-in double-slash PA. Can't use offensive techs. Newmen get a boost with this class. Just for traditionalism.

uh...play story mode people theres something called SEED HIVE which functions like a huge SEED planet >.> so that kinda cancels the idea of a seed planet.....i mean did you ever wonder where the spaceport across from parum PPT port went to?

*has beaten story mode*

neudaiz is primarily newmans
moatoob is primarily beasts
parum is primarily casts

....guardian colony is buncha races together so...how about a "past" home planet of humans?...ever wonder why the hell they're on the guardian colony anyways?...maybe like an omake story mode like Past of humans and you'd partner up with Ethan Wabers Father (which i am curious how he's depicted)

Planet RAGOL
Area1: Forest => Cave => Mines => Ruins
Area 2: Jungle => Central Control Facility => Research Facility => Seabed
-----each sub area may only be accessed by completing the one before it.
Accessed by: SPACE PORT
How: En-route to coordinates for a suspected new HIVE, the ship enters a worm hole and is sent to unknown space. There, a planet that seems to have been undisturbed for many years is revealed to have seemingly as advanced technology as the Gurhal system. Upon arriving in RAGOL air space the GUARDIANS are given orders to investigate.

FOREST
-Tyrant of the Forest C
-Tyrant of the Forest B
-Tyrant of the Forest A
-Tyrant of the Forest S
-Tyrant of the Forest U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: As the ship descends it is attacked by an overwhelmingly large Dragon and forced to make a crash landing. In order to procede, the Dragon must be slain.

CAVES
-Belly of the Beast C
-Belly of the Beast B
-Belly of the Beast A
-Belly of the Beast S
-Belly of the Beast U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: At the mouth of the caves an unprecedented high level of Megi-Photons is picked up by scanners. Such high levels of dark photons can only mean that something is wrong in the Caves, and must be dealt with ASAP before the dark photons mutate any of the surrounding fauna or wild life.

MINES
-Data Recovery C
-Data Recovery B
-Data Recovery A
-Data Recovery S
-Data Recovery U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: At the end of the caves an entrance to a mine is discovered. After dealing with the vicious Sinow Beats that guard the entrance, the GUARDIANS make the choice to venture inside and see what was so aggressively guarded.

RUINS
-Til death do us part C
-Til death do us part B
-Til death do us part A
-Til death do us part S
-Til death do us part U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: Once defeating the AI construct that ran the MINES data was recovered from his mainframe that had information of a suspected alien craft buried deep beneath the surface of the planet. The GUARDIANS take the coordinates and procede with caution.

JUNGLE
-Reclaim the Jungle C
-Reclaim the Jungle B
-Reclaim the Jungle A
-Reclaim the Jungle S
-Reclaim the Jungle U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: After the nightmare of the ruins(if this area was done second, if not, disregard) in which the GUARDIANS where forced to fight each other(Falz is evil that way lol), they had second thoughts about investigating this new planet. With their heads held high they kept to their mission and proceded to coordinates found in the MINES about an under water research facility.

CENTRAL CONTROL FACILITY
-Viral Outbreak C
-Viral Outbreak B
-Viral Outbreak A
-Viral Outbreak S
-Viral Outbreak U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: After making their way through the Jungle the GUARDIANS arrive at what appears to be a heavily fortified compound. Power seems to be running, so the GUARDIANS decide to investigate. No sooner that they set foot into the compound that they are attacked by a cloaked enemy. Whatever caused the infection of the surrounding area was coming from this compound. The GUARDIANS decide to continue.

RESEARCH FACILITY
-From the Cradle C
-From the Cradle B
-From the Cradle A
-From the Cradle S
-From the Cradle U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: Into the maw the GUARDIANS dive. There is no turning back now. Whatever was down here wasn't going to let them leave without a fight. After battling through countless monstrosities and experiments gone bad, they arrive at their destination: The Seabed.

SEABED
-To the Grave C
-To the Grave B
-To the Grave A
-To the Grave S
-To the Grave U (Mobs with like 600% movement speed increase)

About: Losing contact with the outside world due to high Dark Photon concentration, the GUARDIANS decide to eliminate whatever is sleeping at the bottom of the seabed. No matter what happened, they vowed to fight to their fullest and pressed on.

Technically, Neudaiz is the "water" planet already, with 80% of its surface covered in it. There was actually a boss fight (the second with Onmagoug) that took place during the rain... maybe an entire level like that would be neat.

Aside from one exception, though, the idea of an entirely new planet is unlikely. So what could we see? Three possibilities pop up: Moatoob's satellite belt, an artificial satellite, and Neudaiz's moon.

Eh... it's not really that unlikely. If they modeled Gurhal after Algo (and they did), then a fourth hidden planet would be almost expected. Though I'm sure you won't see it until the fourth episode or sequel to the series. It would be cool if PSU followed that same millenial cycle which the original PS series did - and each game took place in a similar, yet very different setting. Rykros would be represented as a planet which comes into the Gurhal system once every 1,000 years and is actually the true homeworld of the SeeD. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Then again... I complain enough about them humping the old series for plotlines instead of being original. So maybe that's not such a good idea.

The SeeD Homeworld, you can see it eclypsing the sun in the original PSU trailer. You might need something like the aeroprism to locate it in the game's story mode.

I would like a planet like the dark world of Metroid Prime. It would look smoothe, like a place like the Colony missions, but with with different monsters, I can't think right now, but we need more robots around...

A planet that is covered by one gigantic city. We would finally get the chance to fight in city streets, up a sky scrapper and have a boss battle on the roof.

They already have it - it's called Parum. Most of the planet is industrialized and urbanised. The plains and hedgerows we've been fighting in are like a sort of nature preserve. They simply didn't make any "city" levels that I'm aware of for us to fight in. Unless, that is, you count Mellvore - but even that is just an underground maze. It would have been really fun to fight in the ruined streets of old Mellvore City Surface - but ah well.

Though it would be nice to see a remake of that area, expecially with the PSU shottie.

Something like Kuran from PSIV would be really nice. Even though PSU is alot more high tech than it's prequels, it lacks a "mechanical" area, except for the mellvore seabed. Also, the mech design (cast not included) in PSIV easily crush any other PS game.

Seconded. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'd like to add the interesting correlation between the Guardians colony acting a bit like that 4th planet in the system and the fact it is manned by "Guardians".. ie, the actual translation of the parmalatin "Le Roof" is "The Guardian".
