S-ranks....NOT WORTH IT! [Archive]

I have noticed that the S-rank weapons are NOT WORTH IT. They cost so much, yet the ones I have tried are worse than my B rank weapons! I have tried the following S-ranks:

Suvaltus Sword(Sword),

Two-Headed Ragnus(Dual Saber type[One in each hand]),

Muzzle Fever(Machine/Mechgun),

Viper(Handgun),

AND

Blackbull(Rifle).

ALL worse than the ones right before them in the shop, or, in the case of the suvaltus/svaltus sword, worse than the best B rank sword. IF you plan to get S-rank weapons anyway, please, only carry them to show off. They just don't do enough damage. Just thought I'd share this based upon my Extra/Story mode experiences.

well have u tried grinding them?

maybe they are like kubara weapons and grind well

I DON'T grind. Period. I MIGHT try that later, but it seems that the higher the rank of the weapon, the less the "chance" grinding will succeed. I broke many B-rank weapons on the third grind, the one that has the very high chance, so S-rank may also break there, as the first two ALWAYS succeed. I will test out others later.

Kubara weapons only get better when grinded. Kubara weapons get A LOT stronger from a single grind. I wouldn't be surprised if S rank weapons gain a near full rank in power after a single grind.

The general rule is the higher rank the weapon is, the less ATP the weapon gets. Usually they still get a significant amount of PP, but, almost no ATP.

For example (this is for online atleast). A C-rank weapon may gain 100atp. A B-rank of the same type would gain about 70atp. An A-rank would gain about 45atp. So an S-rank I would assume would follow this same trend and only get like 30atp.

The exception to this rule is claire weapons. Which don't gain any PP at all.

svaltus sword has over 700 atp. you have to grind a hanzo before it even gets to 600 atp. the only bad thing about s-ranks offline is that you cant craft them with the exception of svaltus sword so you are stuck with whatever elemetn they have wich is why i hate the knuckles lucaim uses. also offline weapons tend to grind based on thier base stats. rifles bows and swords grind awesome. but shotguns and mechguns grind pretty shitty. lastly if you weapons always break on the 3rd grind you are very unlucky or only used +1 grinders. i can always easily get to 3 grinds with 2 +1's and 1 +3. it will say no chance of failure the first two times then very high chance on the third time. after that you have to synth +4 and +5 grinders.

here this will help with your fear of grinding trust me when i say a decently ground B rank is stronger than an un-ground A rank (and u cant even grind a ranks right now)
and dont be cheap with that +2 crap use +6 and hell +10's if you can get them

Offline is like a whole another game. Have you ever compared the stats of a offline character to a online one? Heck even the weapons are vastly differant online and offline. A bone dance Double Saber online has like 310-320 ATP. Offline it's about 200.

while offline may be a completely different game that doesnt make peoples opinions on certain things completely invalid. i would of been online on day one if it was in the cards but it wasnt in the cards i was dealt. one thing you can completely throw out though is ranger. rangers online are completely fucking retarded online compared to off.

Most weapons indeed get better when grinded but you should note that many kubara weapons actually don't gain that much from grinding because they are apparently intended as joke weapons... AND THUS SUCK DESPITE WHATEVER YOU DO TO THEM.

Also all weapons follow the same grinding pattern in offline mode... which is the sucky grinding pattern.
