does anyone have any idea what this? it has been announced that it will be released for the ps2 and xbox 360, but nobody seems to know anything about it? theories are welcome!

There isn't even a date to come, or from where they have their informations.

It's already released. Partially. They're putting up chapter 2 on the US servers tonight IIRC.

It's the online storyline/guardian missions.

ethan needs to get laid. Too much abstention from sexual intercourse made him go wierd. His goal is to get his FP out of COG

Correction, Its NOT already released, Its the offline storyline that parallels the online storyline. You play as ethan and it shows his side of the story that is currently unfolding in online.

Aye, it's just the online storyline, this has already been confirmed by a couple of JP players I've talked to.
The only reason people tend to get confused is because some game review sites actually reported it as an expansion when that isn't the case.

No, you're wrong.

The online storyline takes place "some months" after the events of offline mode. A simple play-through of the storyline mission will reveal this, provided you have the capability or patience required to read. Even so - the opening scenarios of that mission should have tipped you off to the fact that the online mode takes place after storyline mode. That is, unless you've played neither the offline mode or storyline mode online.

In the offline mode, Ethan starts off as a citizen who hates the Guardians. The first online storyline mission reveals that he is already a Guardian - or, "Ex" guardian since he was expelled for trying to assassinate the president.

and that story parallels the current online story.

Considering that there has been virtually no talk of an expansion by ST, even on the JP side.
As it stands Illumines no Yabou is an Online only venture.

why would it be in phantasystaruniverse.jp/secret if its online only.
Online isnt really a secret.
They wouldn't be advertising the online story, its a new disc.

The same day that they made that webpage they announced the online story on their front page. They never made a link to the phantasystaruniverse.jp/secret though. someone just found that by chance afterwards.

Honestly Sega Team's whole plan of action for PSU is questionable.
Fact is that the so called "Secret" site has been known about for quite some time now and they have yet to release a statement. So until I hear an official statement, I'm still going on what the JP are confirming.

That whole thing is an online story mode, nothing more.

also why would the online story have a special name like ambition of illumines (illumines no yabou)? do you see that title anywhere on online? no. Its an expansion disc.

It's not an expansion, it's the online story mode with Laia Martinez which has already begun
