I keep hearing conflicting stories.

Can someone list all of the currently know ways it can happen? I closed my shop because I was worried about it and I'm thinking about reopening it. But is it safe?

No, there are no other ways or no it isn't safe?

I heard that the game will sometimes accidentally send you to someone else's room when you go to the server cube and select "Your Room" and that the game will think that person's room is your room.

Gamertag Theft is bullshit.

False. It's a hack on the PS2/PC server.

Well shoot, I guess I'll reopen my shop then. I started getting so paranoid after reading so many of the horror stories here that I closed it.
