Playing with a group of Colombians and Italiens tonight, after talking for a while we got onto the subject of hacking/duping, and none of us actually knew anyone personally who did these things, but I know of people from the US and UK who do.
Do you think its possible that the majority of these people are from these two regions and the others that play PSU more or less don't bother with it?
I know this is a bit of a generalisation, well it probably seems that way, but its not meant that way at all, just meant as an observation.

So it seems.
Cheating is not restricted by regeion - though it seems the most vocal and boisterous ones are from North America or Great Brittan.

Of course, those two regions also make up the majority of players in the game.

Oh yeah definetly, theres bound to be cheaters in other regions. Just makes you wonder, why do the UK/US ones have to be so damn loud and abusive about it?
Maybe its the fact that some legit players go around shouting about it being the end of the game and such, I dunno.

Well I'm pretty sure about 97% of the population doesn't know anyone personally who hacks. But yeah, the most notorious "hackers" are born and raised right here in the US of A.

Actually - many of the members of TMG (including some of the staff) are Brittish IIRC. Though I doubt they have many "hacking" skills, I will admit they are (in part) more talented that the majority of the douchbags out there like NuGz or Broomop at what they do. Which, from what I've seen, is trall IRC hacking channels to get programs and advice from people who do know what they're doing.
For example, the program they're using (or were using) to bypass the PS2 DNAS authentication so that they could cheat online from a console was developed a long time ago as a means to cheat on SOCOM 2 IIRC. It was nothing they created themselves.

Americans have a thing for bragging, especially dumb kids who figure out something kind of fun. For every 100 "hackers," there's something like 1 that can actually do anything, then the other 99 just piggyback off of what s/he figured out, and say they did it.
Since we aren't allowed to literally beat sence into kids anymore *grumble* a lot of them just see hacking or exploits as a way to make a game more fun to them, damned all what it'll do to others. I personally don't know, or even know the reputation of any REAL American hackers, though there are more than one Russian and Koreans whos work I've seen more than once.
Anyway, I'm rambling and not making much sence, the point gets down to;
-American kids = generally stupid/ Have to show off when they find out how to do something
-Kids from other places = Probably less dumb/ Keep it a bloody secret when the figure out something, so they can keep doing it.
But hey, if the all-mighty Bob didn't make American adolescents, how else would exploits, cheats, hacks, and the like ever get found out and fixed?
