if maybe all the bosses in the game are like, security for people's items?
seeing as how like, all the boxes appear after you defeat a boss, is it a security feature?
maybe someone tamed DF and used him to guard their boxes....before he blew everyone up....

I do not think it is a "security", merely the boxes that you get after a boss is to reward you for your hard work.

Yes, as it happens, I has INSANELY bored out of my skull, and DF would make a good security measure, although you gotta wonder why the boxes only appear AFTER the boss keels over and somehow......disappears.....
