Hey folks, I've recently purchased a copy of PSO+, to ensure my future offline experience will be as ace as ace can be.
However, I read on this site:
"Character and item data is completely transferable data from Ep 1 and 2 similar to how Ver 1 data could be transferred to Ver 2 DCPSO. This is only true for the JP version. You cannot transfer your US characters over to PSO Plus."
Now, I'm in EU, playing on a PAL gamecube.
I have an NTSC copy of PSO+.
Will my characters carry over, or do I have to remake them?
???

You will have to remake them.
As far as i know NTSC and PAL saves are entirely different.

Better stop playing for the time being then-
Good thing I only got to lvl 26 so far.
Anyway, will I be able to use a PAL memory card?
Im not even sure if those things are region coded at all..
Edit: Oh, and while we are on the subject, I guess that I wont be able of play offline multiplayer with my PAL buddies until they have remade their characters to PSO+ either then, eh?

yeah, you can use PAL memcards for US games and the other way around. the only thing that might cause issues is saving JP savegames on a ascii-formatted card.

Great^^
One last question though.. how does the "freeloaders" work?
You know, those things that are supposed to make your console "un-regionally" coded.
I gather that they are small CDs, like regular games for GC.
I pop it in, and I my GC will be de-regionalized permanently?
Not that this is a really big issue, but it would be nice to know in advance..that way my buds can use it so they can get PSO+ for themselves!

I am sure it will work, if you have a gamecube have a try it out if it does work.

you have to put the freeloader in and wait a few seconds until it tells you to open the tray again to put the real game in. what the freeloader does is dumping an US BIOS onto the cube's RAM. after you put your non-PAL game in and close the tray, it will play as if you'd play it on a native console.
and that has to be done each time you start up your cube anew.

Mwabwetumba, where did you get your copy from? I've been looking for ages and haven't seen one PSO+ that I can buy from the UK http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif
