...and man, it feels good. Makes me feel like I just became part of a very exclusive club. Anyway, any hints on how to handle myself in the early stages of forteteching, or should I just stay the same course I was on as a Force?

its the same as force, just now your pretty much a pure caster. I know some forces used meele weaps once in a while (I never did) but as a techer forget it.. you hit worse than a girl http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

less defense and less hp so watch yourself more and make sure to have scapes.

I was soloing relic A in parum as a force, when I made the shift to techer I couldnt really do it safley anymore... so at first you may want to stick with some easier missions till you get the hang of things.

atm there's nothing really that threatening for a fortecher as long as you use the right armor, which could be either easy or hard for you get obtain heh

Welcome the Fortetecher Group! Your in for a long road... Job Levels will take a long time so find some good friends to take you on Ohmagoug Runs or something with lots of MP

yes welcome to the wonderful world of insanely powerful spells and laughable HP/ DFP http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

My only advice would be to be careful in some of the tougher boss fights … you’ll find that when you start off in that class you’re a lot more susceptible to one hit kills http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I would think that's more due to dropping from a level 10 job to a level 1 job than any inherent weakness in Fortetecher.

Keep in mind though that Advanced jobs level mind-numbingly slow.

I play a suicide Mage. My Gi-spells have good range but I like running into a crowd and then nuking. I keep plenty of scapes because those Dogs in Lab S hit for 300 base, and there's like 12 in the first room. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif;

Well I just became a Fortetecher too. I mostly do Mizuraki S since there is good exp and MP although even 34 MP is 1/10 what you need to get to level 2. The only problem is that 3 hits and you go down and if you get frozen you are screwed. Luckily there will always be 6 people there so as long as you bring 2-3 scapes you should be fine. I can usually go through without using any though. Also get a Granarod I get 1250 crits with Diga 23 now.

Actually it isn't a problem at all since I get hit less than before especially in S rank missions and I only have a Me-senba and no extra items for it. I was really worried though when my HP went down to 532 at level 40 but it really wasn't a problem. I can still solo Relics B and most other B rank missions more easily since I have an A rank rod now.

LOL YES Another Fortecher that plays with gi-spells.

My friend bitches at me for using them [youre gunna get killed using them -.-;]. W/E I use gi-spells i know the risks and i keep at least 3 scapes on hand at all times.

Force/fortecher has gotten to be really fun for me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Gi spells are risky, but it's not too bad. Actually, I rather like having my force stay in close. I've grouped with a few that like to be a mile away from combat, which makes them really awful healers.

Fortetecher is hard, but that's what makes it fun, unlike other classes(protranser is harder of course). Buy a good armor, at least 6-star if you have the defense for it. Despite the crap HP and DFP, you could still solo S missions if you have the skills for it. Also unlike normal forces, we get a 20% less deduction in PP cost for techs.

Which makes using Wands exclusively more of a viable option. Sure, I don't have many wands yet, but i've got 9 Lidras cookin' right now. Let's hope they work. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

52% @ 90 Tech. I should wait for the full 55% later tonight for the last feeding... but I can't. I want mah Lidras now. T_T

Good, I'm not the only suicidal Gi- technic user. All four of mine are 15+, and I just got Gizonde to 21. It's godly. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

lol Gi-techs ftw :3 it's the easiest way to take out a huge mob when lvling with a party of 6. Less chances of them targeting you while you wipe em all out >:) aaaannnddd you're close to the party so no running around casting resta XD unless u gotta heal a ranger lol

Still trying to lvl mine >.< got 2 out of 3 at 21+ http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

it gets easier as you lvl the job, but as mentioned before it is truely mind-numbingly slow.
Just find a good group and do an S ranked mission at Neudaiz http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
If you're lucky you might even find a cometara XD

Good luck to you!

Wut sux for a fortetecher is that u cant use A...or even B rank bows. Nor can one use Crossbows or cards. My fortetecher has to wait until like lvl 60 or something to use it. And it takes a hell of a time to level up.

I love my gi's. They never miss. Gi-diga on parum is the bomb almost anywhere, since there are no earth enemies to speak of and tons of lightning. It's like free crits all day.

I run with diga/resta and gidiga/reverser and it works great. Armor is definitley key.. get something with 3 slots like a Gi-senba, get a me-concentrate or better and a mega wall and you will be fine.

nuke, nuke, heal, nuke.. thats the pattern, and as a fortetecher.. it will probably be time for resta on your buddies each time you cast it.

Damage is insane.. I routinely hit for 900 plus on a lightning enemy..crits around 1600.

And what dain saidis right.. makes you a better to healer to wade in there wiht the rest of your party.

I use Gi techs all the time since they are at level 11. If you are in a large group you push all of them back and prevent them from attacking for a sec and by then everyone else comes over and sends them flying everywhere. The only time it is a problem is if you don't know how to dodge and if you get to fortecher without knowing how to doge that is amazing.

I could use Gi-techs all day and take zero damage... except from the occasional Barta bc for some reason when a mob starts to cast you can't interrupt them. >.<

It depends someyimes it will stop it somtimes it won't. Just like blocking when casting will somtimes allow you to double cast and others it will stop your cast.
