View Full Version : Megistaride bug?

I've been playing with a new character so the need for megistaride (all stat bonus) is great for my char.

But here's something I encounter EVERY TIME I use it.

I use the item and bam I get my stats up, good. BUT, there is something really weird. I RECEIVE steady damage for about 30 seconds. Does this have anything to do with my character type? (Fem. Cast Ranger)

I use it when up against the De Ragan (I have only used it in this case). At first I thought maybe I'm lagging and receiving damage because of it or maybe because there are 4 little icons next to my name, burn doesn't show up... but I got burned before and it came up.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Megistarde is like Megiverse. Boosts every stat and gives a DoT effect that cannot be removed.

I think Megiverse is a DoT. I don't know for certain though, but it's the same spell.

If Megistaride is anything like the tech it's based on, (Megistar) then it would make sense to deal damage to you. (Megistar boosts all stats but makes the user take damage.)

Edit:

Megiverse steals HP from enemies.

Megistaride, being the dark element status booster, raises all stats at the cost of your own hp. It is supposed to do that.

Yep, Megistar. My bad. I keep getting those two confused. I assume that'll change once we get them and I start to use them more. heh.

yeah its a negative to go with all the posotives. 4 buffs instead of 1 so it has a dot that comes with it, should be 3 hits (maybe 4) then its over.

All I ever use is Retard anyway. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I don't need the others.

The negative effect lasts for only a few seconds.

The negative effect can also be cancelled when one of the buffs are shattered or taken off by a debuff from an enemy.

Mmm.. come to think of it, I have experienced that cancellation before. I guess I just never noticed it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

If I recall, an ingredient for synthing Megistarde was a Poison Truffle, that should be enough explanation. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

When you use a "retard" to increase your TP it actually increases your resta heal points and tech damage until it expires? never used one and although it seems self explainatory I wante dto make sure.

It's supposed to be so. Just remove the dot by getting a stat debuff.

ALso you craft them using poison truffles so that should give you a clue to why you take damage.

I never wait to cast Resta so when I do I never see the full amount. I usually cast it when people are at half HP... I never see the max I can do.

As for my spells? It adds about 200 damage per Diga strike, and helps me break 2,000 damage with my compliment of Lidras. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

They cost 150 per so nobody can complain about price, but I just wish the store was closer than Yohmei shop. >_<

I avoid megastaride, and just throw all the other ones together. I like the semi techno beat it makes. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
Untz untz untz untz... *dances*

You do know that without the Megistaride, you can only have one buff active, right?

I'm also a big fan of the TP increaser. I use it, sometimes, to mildly make up for the fact that *teching* is my secondary and not my primary (guns).

Uhhh, no. I'm pretty sure you can have more than one active. I've done it and I've watched other people do it.

All right, perhaps you can have two, but the trouble is, each buff is Elemental, so you can never have opposite element buffs on at once. Shifta or Deband, now.

Personally, every time I've tried to get multiple buffs off of items, I've only been able to have one at a time.

You can use all Single Buff Items at the same time, I've seen FOs us Atk/Def/Ata/TP Up seperately and they all stack. Them using Megistaride with their crappy HP on the more harder Srank Missions is almost suicide so I can understand why they would prefer to Buff Up that way instead, besides the point that Megistaride isn't sold at Item Guy/Store.
