I'm sure SEGA will make a variety of Hunter weapons. After all, they need to in order to keep the hunter class fun with many methods of smashing opponents (well, I need my dog--err--HUcast to have a katana again). However, your concern for if twin/double sabers will return reminds me of how I began to develop a concern if SEGA will give the Ranger more weapons. Sure the assault rifle is cool, especially with its variety of shots, but it makes me fear that if it becomes too versatile, that may eliminate the reason to include other Ranger weapons. For example, I don't think we'll need mechguns anymore (well, think about it), and with the inclusion of a piercing shot and explosive shot, it may eliminate the need for laser cannons and shotguns, respectively. Therefore, I keep worrying that SEGA might make the assault rifle the only Ranger weapon (I will not be counting the gunblade in this case). Either way, I'm having my fingers crossed that SEGA would not do that in order to keep the Ranger fun. After all, the Ranger class is what I am looking forward to being the most, especially the RAcast, and due to me being kinda stubborn, I would love to have my RAcast constantly switch weapons in battle (something I found charming about being a RAcast in PSO, which certainly made the game less boring IMO). If there is only assault rifles in the final version of the game for the Ranger, then I'm going to go give someone a heart attack by over-salting their french fries with a salt rifle.
Nah, forget the Hue CAST idea. Let's make a RAnewm and RAnewearl, so we can name the RAnewm "Earl" and whenever he dies, we get the RAnewearl to find some revival item or technique to renew Earl.
Speaking of HUcasts (pfft), I wonder if we're gonna do a HUcast Trio again in PSO2. After all, I'm going to have one male CAST dedicated to being a hunter (Ken-chan), you will probably have a male CAST, and my friend wants to be a HUcast...
So I saw the concept art for the RAnewm, and I'll have to admit, it looks so awesome. Being a bit of a fan of Final Fantasy, he does remind me of a Red Mage.
However, admittedly, the first person I imagined when I saw this concept art was Alucard from Hellsing. I wonder why I feel like an oddball for being the only one I know who imagined Alucard of all people when I saw this concept art...
Hmm, well all my friends use MSN, so I guess that could work as some sort of method of real-time communication. Although I'm always online (OK, well, not when I'm asleep or at school), Shanks is rarely online, and my big brother and other friend sign on at like, whenever. The only ones on my contact list who are like always online are a couple female friends of mine who live in my home town. I guess I could register more contacts on my MSN to talk to if that's fine with anyone, but I have a feeling an IRC channel would be more efficient, so I might resort to that when PSO2 comes out. I know my big brother has mIRC though.
And yes, I would be glad to meet up with friends again on PSO2 as well. It is mainly why I look forward to playing it, along with the fact that it's based on Phantasy Star Online.
As for the Revival board, I don't think it would totally matter suggesting an IRC channel for the group. To be quite honest, I don't think many would use it, and sadly, I'm sure the group will eventually die down when PSO2 comes by (part of why I don't see Zero's idea of having a PSO2 sub-group in the Revival board). Plus, yeah, I'd agree that it would seem awkward to not be active in a group for a while and then suggest such a thing. 7=
An IRC channel would probably be a wise idea. After all, it is difficult to try and communicate with people here, since it isn't in real time and everyone is either on or offline. Come to think of it, wasn't the suggestion of an IRC channel made a couple times before on the Revival Board?
I wouldn't mind staying in touch with other online friends I've made on the Revival Board, but to be honest, I think I'll leave it up to them to decide that. There's a good chance that many of them will move to PSO2, and based on what ZeroxGT mentioned in one of his posts to me, it might not be a bad idea gathering Revival members into something like a PSO2 "sub-group" for the Revival members to meet again.
I was considering an option like this for means of communication among friends when PSO2 comes out anyway. Especially for me, Shanks, my big brother (who recently decided to make a PSOW account under the name "Shinmarizu"), and another friend who will be new to Phantasy Star, who I all know in real life and all want to stay in touch with each other, especially since I don't live in my old home town with them for post-secondary school reasons, I figured it would be way easier to keep in touch with everyone we're playing with on PSO2 with a real-time social interactive method (of course, online friends included). Aside from PSOW, the only other "real-time" internet social method I use includes MSN (where I'm pretty much always online) and Ventrilo (usually to talk to friends or my big brother VIA headset, because cellphones to me are the most unholy invention ever), but I usually talk about anything and everything there.
Well, I recently heard that Chaosmaster will be finally putting PSZ down for good soon. It feels pretty sad to me to hear about it.
So maybe to be nice and I guess silly in a way, I think I want to hang on to that Yonohate In of his in memory of him. I was thinking about giving it away, but out of being mind-boggled to miraculously have his first Yonohate In suddenly go around to eventually in my hands, I feel I should either keep it, or let you keep it, for both options being a thank-you to him for providing it to us.
But then again, I'm not sure. I haven't played PSZ in two weeks straight, and I'm curious if that I'll look no better than another person to hold onto it and not use it. What do you think?
I knew that was the case. I was wondering why I saw like 3 RAcasts who actually looked like HUcasts (I didn't like that very much). >_> I also wonder how many outfits/body parts will have to be unlocked or purchased. It better not be too many of them.
Actually, I'm sure there will exist stronger double sabers, because if my hunch is correct, plenty of weapons will probably return from other games. For example, Norco showed me a list of double sabers in PSP2, and the Clair Doubles returned, but was the third strongest double saber, as well as the strongest of the 13* double sabers. (The Double Cannon was above the Clair Doubles, and was 14*, and another one that I don't remember was above the Double Cannon, and was 15*).
And yeah, Xanto looks pretty cool this time. Nice job. Thank goodness I've got see a cool-looking HUcast for once (since I keep complaining about how everyone is either being a Male Human or a Female anything). Now I just got to hope that I'll be able to find a suitable head for my HUcast Ken.
...I sense a need for a familiar yellow-colored Double Saber...and maybe another katana...
Now that I think about, it has occurred to me that I would like to see Ken use thunder, wind, and stat-up/down techniques if CASTs can use techniques as a Hunter or Ranger. =P (Mostly because Ken's Element Signs (if you remember what those are) not only include Spirit, but he also possesses Water, Thunder, and has some proficiency with Aether, due to be "Izanagi-descent"). Well, it would be really awesome if CASTs can cast Shifta/Deband/Jellen/Zalure. Also, I sometimes think SEGA should bring back Saner and Doran (Speed Up/Down technique) from Phantasy Star IV.
Ah, plenty of things to (not) look forward to in PSO2.
Yeah, you're right. There's plenty of things in PSO2 that aren't known yet, since we've only gotten information from an alpha test. I hope that they do return some distinct traits among races or specific classes.
Also...why do I somehow NOT welcome this "multiclassing?" I wasn't too OK with the idea of switching your character's class, but if there's like different stat growth through leveling as a different class, then oh boy, there's something I guess I'll NOT look forward to.
Almost makes my idea of creating TWO Male CASTs (yeah, I intended on making Robo AND Ken, simply because I don't see Robo using swords, nor do I see Ken using guns =P) feel like a slightly more viable choice, but I guess I'll know later.
Oh, OK then. I did kind of think that only the a2 testers would be eligible for the closed beta test, due to that chance that you'll be admitted into the closed beta test if you raised one character to LV10 within the four sessions of the a2 test. Alright then, I'll keep that in mind.
Now I somehow wonder what the CAST expressions are like when you chat. I'm TOO tempted to repeatedly show off the super fearfulness within my super fearful RAcast. :3
Speaking of which, I hope SEGA returns distinctive abilities to the races, like back then. I do have complaints about how races don't seem to matter anymore aside from stats, such as how everyone has this PP regen, due to the new system, and how CASTS CAN GET FREAKING POISONED. DX
Also, I do appreciate that you'll notify me about the closed beta having open registration or not (even though I highly doubt it, hence the term, closed beta). Once again, thanks.
I would absolutely love a chance to make it into the Closed Beta. For the previous MMO's that I've played, I've always used CB as an excuse to "make all the mistakes you want because everything is going to be deleted come Open Beta, then don't make those mistakes in the actual game." If you made any oopsies or other misc mistakes that you'd like to share once you discover them, I would personally be glad to know Though the only mistakes I ever make is with Skill Trees.
By the way, me and Shanks are kind of starting a bit of a gather-up (I guess) of friends to play PSO2 with when the open beta or full game comes out. Me, Shanks, my big brother, and another real-life friend of ours who we recently him gotten into PSO2 are all willing to join up in the same "ship" or server, so we can all play together, and due to my intention to gather up some more friends, I thought I might ask you, Zero, and maybe some other fellow friends from the PSZR who intend to play PSO2 to join us. I do have the intention on planning this server business with everyone who is up for playing with us on PSO2 later on.
Oh yes, the Forest themes are very nice. Almost has a nostalgic with the Forest theme in PSO, which further satisfies me. The same even applies with the Volcano theme, with its boring-ish feel that is similar to Cave from PSO. I am really loving the nostalgia of PSO and PSZ that I am currently seeing in PSO2.
I do agree that it feels weird with how the hovering works for CASTs right now. I do agree that I felt it would be more suitable for the dodge roll and such. Really, my main complaint about the CAST hovering is that your CAST just looks like a hovering statue, which honestly looks and feels really boring to me. I also dislike how they change their direction. To be honest, I think SEGA should add a bit more movement to a hovering CAST and revise it to make them feel more dynamic, such as a slight swing motion while moving straight to fix the "hovering statue" issue, and some sort of dynamic and realistic motion of when a CAST changes direction (without and delayed turning, of course). I know I'm being REALLY picky and critical about this, but I personally feel it does kind of take away from the awesomeness in a CAST's hovering feature, considering that I was astounded by the fact that CASTs would be like flying/gliding Gundams when SEGA first announced it, and I felt that this would look REALLY good with the FOcast/caseal. With that aside though, I would prefer Robo-san to not hover at all, since I find it way more suitable for him. You could say he's a ground-type mecha. :3
YES!! About time I see some footage of a RAcast who looks like a RAcast. I was almost ready to give up hope searching for a video of one. Thanks. \(^_^)/
I can hear some parts where the HU/RAcast are walking while they are equipped, but...I must say...I don't like those sounds they make while walking. For the HUcast, it's OK, but it unfortunately doesn't satisfy me for the RAcast, because it doesn't sound like clunking. =(
...but at least the RAcast's jumping sound works for me (and yes, I will NOT turn on the hovering for my RAcast, simply because I think it will suit Robo-san more). Well, beggars can't be choosers. =/
Also, I REALLY love that quest completion song. It's so catchy.
Aww, that sucks. Due to the fact that it feels like everyone is being a male human or a female anything, I was hoping for some more male CAST footage. Oh well, that's completely OK.
Also, I'm glad to hear that you've been having a lot of fun so far on PSO2. So, when the full game comes out, are you going to a Clair Doubles again if it returns (which I assume is likely to happen)?
Oh yeah... I meant to say I hate getting hit by traps, lmao. XD
It's like how in my imagination, all souldroids love lasers and guns, except for the ones directed toward them. So, uh, is there such thing as a player who likes Forces, because they hate elemental damage? =P
Well, I look forward to seeing some game footage for your games tonight if possible. Thanks, and again, I hope you have fun.
I feel either my HUcast will either go "Yay~!! \(^_^)/" or "Mohh!! щ(゚Д゚щ)"
That's understandable, since the HUmar was always the balanced hunter class, so pretty much everyone starts as him from what I see. I like CASTs, simply because I hated traps since PSO (I first played as a FOnewm, and couldn't stand randomly dying to traps), and...I love robots. :3c
I have no problem with techniques though. Speaking of which, I just find it so weird that CASTs can use techniques now. Oh well. I guess there isn't anything too wrong with it.
Anyway, I hope you have fun on tonight's session. Maybe I can finally hear of somebody playing as a male CAST, and if you do, please tell me what it's like if you can, even though there isn't likely anything outstandingly new about it.
