Yeah, I'll look into that video card later on. I had a feeling that my computer was lacking something to be able to run such a game. But then again, I'm basing this off relative to Minecraft, since it doesn't run so smoothly on my laptop, even with other programs closed and with my laptop plugged in. Not to mention that I somehow do not look forward to having to go through the trouble of looking for computer parts for a game.
You can't cast techniques without a rod...? Makes me wonder why you didn't choose to be a HUcast, but oh well, you didn't know. Hopefully, others with complain about this and SEGA will get that tweaked. Honestly, I don't know why that was the case, though.
One issue I've been hearing that constantly bugs me, was that I heard that the joypad control scheme is bugged or something like that for the a2 test. Therefore, everyone's been pretty much forced to using the keyboard/mouse control scheme. Oh well. I'll expect that to be fixed as well. However, I would like to use a controller when I play, because that's what I've been used to when I've played PSO, regardless of how different the controls are now.
My laptop's video card is "Intel(R) HD Graphics." ...I think. I haven't gotten a clue about how efficient this will be with PSO2. Hopefully, 4GB RAM is enough for it. My laptop also has a 64-bit OS (it's an HP laptop).
I have been looking around for some PSO2 gameplay footage. From what I've seen, it looks really damn awesome, and I somehow love how they are re-using familiar sound effects from PSO and PSZ (it helps it feel more reminiscent of those two games, which makes me like it even more). The action is quite good too. \(^_^)/
However, unless I'm not searching hard enough, all I'm finding are solo-plays or the occasional 2-3 player parties, and no RAcast/Male CAST footage (other Ranger classes won't suffice for me). I am a little disappointed about this, but I guess I'll need to wait longer for the next three sessions. =(
I'm also amazed about how hard every enemy can hit you, and how little HP a single Monomate can heal you. @_@
Not sure where you heard about the open beta, but I guess I'll take your word for it. I hope an open beta will come out as well (I could care less if it was in Japanese, since I could read a bit of it, and I can familiarize myself with what is what). I was patient at first, but now, due to sheer boredom over here (ironically due to a shortage of homework, lol), I need something to play very badly, and there isn't too much to do on PSZ to motivate me to pick it up again in a while, aside from getting the HUcast Trio Dream finally completed and finding a Fuuma Shuriken.
I also gotta hope my 4.00 GB RAM laptop can handle playing PSO2 (It's an HP laptop with an Intel core i5 Processor or whatever the hell it is).
As for pulling an all-nighter over a video game, I'm not sure how mad average American parents get, but when it comes to Asian parents... Ehehe, it's fun being Asian.
Yeah, you (at the moment) have the free time to do so, so you're good to pretty much pull an all-nighter tonight.
Speaking of staying up late, you remind of when I stayed up until 6:00 AM one night to grind for a Frozen Shooter for my RAcast on PSO and got caught by my mom. Wasn't pretty, but it could have been worse.
Also, UGH. Why a closed beta of all things? Oh well, guess I'll just wait for the full game like I did back then. =/
Yeah, it sucks how they take place so freaking late over here. I wouldn't be surprised if you can tolerate like less than 2 or 3 hours of sleep on one night (like what I've done numerous times >_>), but as long as you don't get into any trouble with staying up, (i.e. angry parents, sleeping in) I don't think it will matter at all.
...And here I am being SO tempted to stay up VERY late tonight to check out some videos, even though it may be better for me to just wait until after school. Today, I also felt I got trolled, because when I came back home from school, I saw my cousin's mom and a friend of her's streaming Vietnamese movies...on an Alienware laptop. DX
So I recently looked at the times when the PSO2 servers will be online. Are you planning on pulling an all-nighter to play tonight? I am tempted to stay up late tonight to see some gameplay footage, even though I've got school tomorrow at 8:00 AM. =/
Will you by any chance be making gameplay videos of your adventures? Suddenly I'm really excited for this game again. Congrats on getting in the Alpha Test.
Nice job. I suppose that's why you're on break with PSZ, which is perfectly understandable. I didn't bother to sign up, because I've decided to just wait until the full version is released, even though I have been recently motivated to check out some gameplay footage later, since there's no NDA this time. I badly want to see the experience of playing as a RAcast. Well, enjoy the alpha test, and if you can, let me know how things are.
Heh, nice remix. Also, Plastic Mind is like Alice's best theme ever. I personally like it way more than Grimoire of Alice, Doll Judgement, etc. (although I still like Doll Maker of Bucuresti). The funny part was that I first listened to Plastic Mind on Concealed the Conclusion, even though that was a short version of the original.
I also think a few Stage 2 (Boss) themes are kind of underrated in my opinion (OK, there's Beloved Tomboyish Girl). For example, I really love Fantastic Legend of Tohno and Diao ye Zong (withered leaf) from Perfect Cherry Blossom, and Parsee Mizuhashi's theme (Green-eyed Jealousy) from Subterranean Animism. I would mention Mystia's theme (Deaf to All but the Song), because the trumpet is so damn amazing, but there's something about it that makes the Phantasmagoria of Flower View version sound much more better to me (the Flower Mix).
(And I was apparently your 3000th visitor. Woohoo.)
What I could do is use my regular 100-Power mag with Granir, and go online and get into a 4-player party, which one play has Midgul. Also, I can have someone like a Force who can provide Shifta and Zalure...
...but I highly doubt anyone would be up for that, especially all the Flozir fan--err--users.
I have also recently got even more into listening to Heartfelt Fancy now. I just love that song. Also, it seems like I have been poisoned to repeatedly have Bad Apple!! playing in my head throughout most of the day. It's amazing how many songs in the Windows Touhou games I have memorized to the point where I can whistle nearly all of the ones I know.
Full Power Mode HUcast w/ -10 ATP (due to RAcast's Paru Mag having Midgul, but 90/0/10/0) + Yonohate In+50 w/ 27 Native Parameter + Heavy Attack with Risk + 4-chain Midgul Shifta = 1070 damage to a Vulkure/Ghowl & 965 damage to a Grimble/Garahaden & 930 damage to a Helion
I need to test this with a 4-chain Midgul Zalure, but getting the NPC's PBs full is such a pain. At least I got me a ridiculous Eclamasach and another Garahaden Fang in the process.
Oh, I thought said they were Heavy Attacks with Risk activating. Unless that's what you meant by "normal attacks." But yeah, I need to test this out with a Shifta included. I'm extremely tempted to test this with a 4-chain Midgul, but you cannot have a 100/0/0/0 mag with Midgul under normal circumstances (it would be Granir), unless it is a Paru mag with Midgul. I do have my RAcast's purple Paru mag (which you provided for me), but it is 90/0/10/0, and not 100/0/0/0. This would mean that I would technically not be in Full Power Mode with short of 10 ATP. I could go hunt for another Paru mag with Midgul, but I already blew at least 9,000,000 meseta on buying thousands of weapons to raise 6 mags for the sake of making a new Flozir mag and for another special picture I would like to create, leaving with my HUcast with only 351 meseta leftover. XD
Nice vocal songs. I do agree they are usually hit or miss.
Almost makes me want to listen to some Umineko songs now, for some reason. Some songs I really like listening to include Worldend Dominator and Mirage Coordinator. I also got some sort of Koumajou Densetsu II vibe from that second vocal track you posted (if you know what Koumajou Densetsu II is, also known as Touhouvania II, but I doubt it).
Oh, and Full Power Mode HUcast with Yonohate In+50 + Heavy Attack with Risk + 27 Native Parameter = 575 Damage to a Vulkure. Satisfying as hell, but I still need to incorporate a Shifta in there...
I remember that remix of Emotional Skyscraper ~ Cosmic Mind. My big brother found it out while I was in my house during the holidays. I do like it, however.
But that remix of UFO Stage 4 is...err, what? (I don't listen to too many vocal remixes of Touhou tracks, including Bad Apple!! vocal remixes, because they aren't really my favorite...except Cirno's Math Class or whatever it's called)
I forgot to mention that before I made my HUcast enter Full Power Mode, he, with his usual setup, dealt 420 damage with a Heavy Attack + Risk at a Vulkure. Usual setup, as in no Noble Cloak, 1 Divine/Power, 55 Power Materials, 50 Power in his mag, and no Shifta.
Wow. Really nice. And once again, I feel like I need to reconsider my belief of how Emotional Skyscraper ~ Cosmic Mind is not remix-friendly. I run into plenty of remixes of that song that I don't totally like, compared to the original, since I thought ZUN did an amazing job composing that song.
What I need is a good remix of Interdimensional Voyage of a Ghostly Passenger Ship. (Windows balloon pops are OK too)
Speaking of which...
I think this is what Touhou players call "Full Power Mode."
(And yes, there's the Noble Cloak, 4 Divine/Powers (like the game thinks I don't have enough), 80 Power Materials, and a 100-Power Mag.)
I see. I understand that you might be extremely busy with things right now, like everyone else. Is things pretty busy with you right now, especially concerning your job interviews and whatnot?
I'm not sure if you can, but is it possible if you can go online on PSZ tomorrow at 3:00 PM EST if you're not busy? I was thinking about getting this HUcast Trio Dream finally over with, and I have asked WuBing if it possible for him to come online at that time as well.
