You see, a 3rd tier unit (which Volke starts as) gets a special skill. These are devistating, and pretty much all top the effect of a critical. The assassin has lethality, rogues have bane. Here's why lethality beats bane:
Bane: Enemy is reduced to one HP. Great... If it triggers on the first hit. However, I've had enemies be saved by bane, because Sothe could have killed them with a normal hit, but hit with bane instead (on the second hit, not first, obviously).
Lethality: They die.
Need I say more? Also, Volke has cooler animations. BTW, I don't know the activation rates for the above skills.
Same here. Sorry I took so long. I normally (try) to shower at 8, but I was watcing an old episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. So that delayed me an hour.
Both Rogues in the game, frankly, suck. For a better "Ninja" there is Volke, who you get in the sixth to last stage. He is an assassin, cooler and stronger than any rogue. Rogues steal, assassins kill. Any questions?
There are 4 parts to the game. Part one, essentially the entire Daein rebellion you are playing through now. Is about...15 chapters. The next is about 6. Third is about 25 (long). The last part is essentially 11 chapters long. So a lot of stages.
Rogue technically. Don't overuse him. He loses usefulness pretty fast later on, and abusing him means less EXP for other, better characters. And that number is durability. It decreases by 1 each time you hit with it. When it hits 0, the weapon is gone. Only a powerful, unique staff found later in the game. Once it breaks, you'll need a new weapon. This gives you a reason to save rare weapons, such as Mechiah's Thani times and Zihark's killing edge. A few story-critical weapons are unbreakable. Additionally, you can get some weapons made unbreakable before the last 3 stages.
Who is your favorite character so far? I really liked Edward and Zihark back then. Also note: be careful with your money, don't spend frivolously. Money is a luxury, not a plentiful resource.
