Hope for the Megaman X series: Corrupted

While I'm pretty sure I made a thread for Megaman X Corrupted long ago, it may have been lost with the great forum cleanup, so I'm revamping with a new thread. And hopefully some hype for the X fans. Its been 4 years running, but JKB and his gang have been continuing strongly.

Here's an FAQ so you guys can keep the questions to a bare minimum:

- This is made with AS2 on Flash 8 Professional;
- There is NO release date or estimated release date/year;
- There won't be a Demo;
- Axl won't be in the game;
- Vile won't be in the game;
- I won't be adding anymore armors;
- Zero will not have a Buster;
- X will not have a Saber move;
- No Multiplayer mode;
- Metroidvania game style;
- This is not a ROM and will never be;
- Game will be FREE of charge;
- Runs on PC and MAC;
- Configurable controls;
- Controller only available with the use of external programs (ex. joy2key);
- Game will be in English. No other languages planned for now;
- game code will NOT be open source;

FEATURES
- Play as X and Zero, each one with a different intro and opening stage;
- Open world with non-linear gameplay and multiple paths;
- Story based on cannon events from X1-X5;
- Decisions you make can change the story and lead to different endings;
- 8 new mavericks;
- New enemies and improved AI for older ones;
- New weapons and skills;
- New armors for X and Zero;
- Combine X armor parts to gain special abilities;
- 5 levels of difficulty;
- Level up to gain Skill Points to upgrade weapons and skills;
- Complete achievements to earn extra Skill Points;
- Scoreboards;
- Customizable controls;
- Mini-map that expands as you explore;
- Environment changes after bosses are defeated;
- 6 ride armors;
- Lives, checkpoint and save point systems;
- Several hidden items to collect;

Some of these videos are outdated, but are part of an example of the potential he's been capable of. What you see here in music and gameplay has either been updated, or replaced. Older familiar music are there as placeholders.

Um... Excuse my ignorance but is this some upcoming game, and so for what platform?

Looks so much like the SNES games (X through X3)! Nice and hectic boss battle! Just like it should be! ^^

Now I feel like playing through those games again!

The Weapons recharge now. So if you over use it you have to wait till it charges *I guess*. But Zero....LOOKS OP!

It's one of those fan games that are in development for years but I guess the creator realizes making a game with 8 bosses, stages, and 5 more bosses leading to the last boss, with 13-14 stages all together is a lot harder than you think when considering you have to script or recycle at least 20-30 enemies, think of an obstacle like every 5-10 steps the player takes, and design unique bosses with attack patterns and abilities, and concepts that don't look retarded or out of place. Then make the music for all the stages or hope to find someone who can. and then give up hope by the time the 3rd boss is only half finish because making a full blown game, let alone a platform game by yourself is way harder than it looks and the end- and he's probably using game maker.

I pretty much gave up on this after not hearing anything for like 7 years. But this here nerds me back up. If there ever was a fan game I'd like to see made, this would definitely be it.

@Ghost Inside: Its a fangame that's still in production by JKB, with a Metroidvania style gameplay+Megaman X with a few twists. And its a very potential attempt. @Ark Yep it recharges. He did that to prevent spamming. As for Zero, he had abilities and weaponry set to Zero, unlike X lol.

All you did was post one video and I made assumption of what it was from the 500 other things like it I've seen.

I figured people would actually know about this actual game already, since I did make a thread about it long ago. Guess you weren't one of them. Wouldn't have hurt to do a tiny bit a research. But oh well. I guess I'll spruce the page up better to help you guys who don't wanna bother with google.

I joined a long time ago, but I only became a real poster recently. Otherwise I don't pay attention to any kind of fan game, because like I said. They usually just fall apart mysteriously.

OR when they DO get finished, the creator's company rears their ugly head and legal rights and it's just depressing to see it get shut down.

Well, the unfortunate case of Streets of Rage Remake is a prime example of your claim. However, Capcom has been pretty lenient regarding Megaman fangames. I mean, look at Rockman 7 and 8 FC. Literally complete remakes(or in this case, demakes) of the SNES and PSone sequels. I do have some faith in this game. Capcom did say in an interview long ago that fangames do help promote them. Just like SORR, this game has earned my support for absolute potential. Can't say its definite, but I do think it can slide by without Capcom suddenly invoking wrath. But time will speak for itself.
