Phantasy Star Portable 2 event in San Francisco this Nov

Hi everyone,

We'll be hosting a special event this November here at SEGA of America HQ in San Francisco - similar to last year's PSZ event, you bring your own PSP and copy of the game, and we provide the rest!

In addition to Phantasy Star, this event will also feature Valkyria Chronicles II for the PSP, and a special feedback session for Sonic 4: Episode I.

Phantasy Star will also have a 2v2 Team Battle tournament taking place, with the winning duo scoring some awesome and rare swag. Everyone who attends, in addition, will go home with a goodie bag!

Cool...for the people that live in the area. I live in Florida, so I obviously can't be in attendance, even though I'd trade my left leg to go.

You guys should really consider widening the interactivity to more people than just the San-Fran area. Like, how Bungie does those "touring" events for their Halo games. I mean, it might be a huge stretch for you all, but it's something to possibly consider in the future. It would also help advertise the series a little more, too, and even bring more people into the Phantasy Star niche.

To all the people that can go, have a good time. I'll be over here, being excruciatingly jealous :(.

We actually had people fly in / drive 7-8 hours last time for the event. Really impressive!

For people on the east coast, we do also have a Sonic Colors event happening next week near New York. Not quite as phantasy star related, but if you guys go to it and say hi, we're happy to chat PS stuff. :)

Location wise, it's a challenge because someone will always be pretty far away. We don't have the option of doing any tour with it right now, but maybe if the events get big enough in size and popularity, we could look at that again in the future!

I would totally fly in for the event, if I had the funds to do so. As for the challenge of touring, I definitely understand the predicament. Hopefully, as I said, it'll be a "future" thing, as I really want to be a part of (at least) one of these gatherings before I die.

Come on, Californians! Show up to the event so it becomes more popular, and they can expand their goodies throughout the nation!

EDIT: and maybe even overseas. (after reading Ce'Nedra's post below this one).

So tempted mainly for this. The PSP2 stuff is gravy, but being able to voice my opinions on Sonic 4 would be the icing on the cake.

Affording a flight to San Fran wouldn't be bad, just I've never been there before and finding my way around would be a big deal.

Thankfully, the city isn't actually as confusing as it might seem. I thought the same when I moved here from small town Missouri, but the streets follow an easy numbering and patterned naming system for much of downtown, and you can take both buses and the BART (railway system) to get around really easily.

If all else fails, one can also rely on a taxi - 333-3333 will dial yellow cab. :)

Yeah. Too bad there's only 1 location for a SEGA event. Well, actually, there is 1 I've seen for the first time. I think there is an event in New York City (Bryant Park), coming up. The Sonic Colors event on November 4th. Probably the only event I've ever heard of outside of San Francisco.

Man it sucks I live in NM never anything going on around where I live, and to poor to go. This sucks I would go if I had the money.

Guess I'll have to catch it next time around I hope(if Sega has another event for anything).

Definitely. 12 Hours driving is much better than a week of driving or having to take a Plane trip that may take up to most of those 12 hours. But with gas prices, these days, you do ask the question for how far a drive does it become more economical to just ride the plane?

Wow, that filled up a lot faster than we expected. Even with almost twice as much room as last year, it only took two days.

I have been updating the waiting list to add names to it in the order they asked for a spot - I'll jump back into this on Monday.

It is very possible that people on the waiting list will still be able to make it in, either through others dropping out, or if I can manage to up the amount of people we can include due to the demand. : )

More updates Monday, but if you'd like to go and haven't yet, don't let the waiting list discourage you - get your name in there!

I'd go but with school and all it'd be kind of hard to get there. I get out at 3:30 and it nearly takes me a whole hour to get home with AC transit the way it is now..let alone getting to the event on time XD i'd be cutting it close. Well, all those who signed up and are going, have a good time. Lemme' know how it turns out :3

I was trying to convey the message of how badly I want to go. Doesn't mean I was serious about the leg thing. It was exaggeration. Though, selling my leg for a few hundred dollars might not be a bad idea, seeing as I'm low on money, and unemployed.

OK, updated the list and extended the waiting list to reflect all the weekend requests, too.

Since the waiting list is now 20+ people strong, I am going to see if we can open up a bit more space to try and accommodate even more people.
