Article: PSO2 (JP) - Update on DDoS of PSO2 Servers and Websites

As most of you are aware of by now, the official PSO2 site and servers, as well as some related PSO2 sites, have been under intermittent DDoS attacks since late last week. SEGA brought their official site back online Tuesday and has also released an update on the situation.

In their update, SEGA mentions the intermittent nature of the attacks and notes that they may have to stop service to the official site again if attacks intensify. In that event, players are encouraged to get updates via SEGA's official accounts on various social media outlets. At the time of the update, services that were still down included the download servers for the PC game client and character creation trial, AC purchase, and login to all versions of the game (PC, Vita, and smartphone).

Further maintenance to the official site will be carried out on Thursday to reinforce their protection measures and another update will be released on that day, as well. As a result of the downtime experienced due to these incidents, SEGA will be looking to reschedule various events and campaigns and will also be considering some form of compensation to players. More details will be announced at a later time.

I don't think people who actually plays the JP servers care at all about a western release. There are ENG speakers there, ENG content due to tweaker and patches, buying AC is simple once you figure out how to get web money, etc. If someone is smart enough to launch a DDoS this sophisticated, they should be smart enough to figure out how to enjoy their time on the JP servers.
Also doubt it's SEA. They have no reason for revenge on English-related PSO sites. Yet a lot of such sites got hit.

i heard the DDoS was for 8 days straight sad D; its depressing that people have this much FREE time that they have to ruin a FREE game for others

Id like to know this as well, thought it was out, i guess i was on a bogus site cause the download link was broken, and i cant seem to find the site again.

I've given up on Sega because of this nonsense. They keep giving us horrible sonic games that NOONE really wants except for little kids because they don't know any better. Then they don't make a world wide release for the games that they make that everyone actually DO want. So basically they are screwing themselves over. I don't understand it, because its already in english all they would have to do is give us the download, I don't care about it being on all my devices like cell phone and ps vita and all that other bs they were wanting to put it on. I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE GAME! But it seems like a pipe dream. So I'll stick with PSOBB forever I suppose.
