Help on deleting characters? (PS4)

Hello, I'm new here so forgive me if this is posted to the wrong section or something.

Alas, I've not been playing this game for over a year and last time I played was on PC with an English Translation. I recently found out PS4 version was infinitely easier to set up and well, my PC isn't the strongest machine around. However, not being able to read Japanese has set me back. I have all my character slots filled up and wish to start with a clean slate but can't figure a way to delete any of these spaces. I have done extensive research and only ever found guides for PC version which don't entirely help me out. Any information will be greatly appreciated, thank you.
