When that happened to me, I ran the file checker to fix the cutscene that's supposed to play there. You'll have to reinstall any English patches after running the checker though.

I foolishly let the tweaker add every other old english patch... Oh well, maybe the flood will subside by the time the official launcher is done.

Oh, damn. Mine also says it's downloading 3966 files, so I hope I didn't break anything.

Is it safe to assume that the tweaker will take downloaded Preceeds into account when it patches for EpII?

Same here. I even applied the English patches without a problem after getting that error, then logged in fine.
